Hi everybody I won the prime ministers youth award for entrepreneurship in Jamaica for #keystatam and my company Adtelligent !! To anyone with a kid with adhd; that neurodivergent mind mught just a super power in entrepunership. So here’s some advice, 1.Ask for extra time on tests I got 15 minutes per hour… makes a huge difference I don’t perform well in timed events like that but in real life where deadlines are fixed but the time isn’t an hour I do very well. 2.Ask if your kid can type exams, I got a dummy computer that only allowed me notepad and no grammar correction. Truth is in real life you have Grammarly and my dyslexia is always corrected by the red line. 3.Medicine is okay. I have taken medicine daily for over 14 years and my life was way better afterwards. 4. Learn to live with it, your kid won’t be the same as others, some things he/she/they will struggle with but things they like they will be hooked and hyper Excel. Give positive encouragement, they are already beating themselves up trust me. 5. Make sure they sleep and excercise, and if they miss a deadline talk to them try not to let them run into the anxiety depression trap 6. Lean in and advocate for your child, get them tested… if you can’t afford it write to your government to see if they are free testing centers . 7. Talk to the teachers about what this means, if they aren’t trained they will be frustrated and it’s better you do the research and bring it to them like my mom and dad did. 8. If you do eveyything above and some more things will turn out okay. Yesterday We celebrated the 1 year celebration of @watchcbx Jamaica’s stock exchange Tv station broadcasted to the Caribbean through @flowjamaica and @digiceljamaica. Awesome setup they have down there. World class. Let’s talk about a new idea 💡 Jamaica’s capital markets can possibly be the place where medium and small businesses from Latin American list and their friends and family invest their global money into our shores using our innovative structure as the vehicle. We have good financial laws that have no restrictions on capital inflows and outflows… innovative leaders in our financial sector and we are a neutral country near shore with an English speaking system. But that’s a big idea. The small idea now is just taking your business from where it is and getting to export and you know the drill. By putting on the keystolatam conference on September 7th at Spanish court to show businesses how to export and flying journalist in from Latin American to make them experience the best of what jamaica has to offer. We are creating a massive multiplier effect for jamaicas Economy. What’s it worth when brand jamaica goes on Colombian national Televesion with an investigation in our business community and our hotels and our culture. And that simultaneously happens in Costa Rica and other countries as well. That’s what happens when you partner with the PSOJ and you get individual sponsors and government to come on board. Good morning! Introducing you to another young business genius and a future leader of jamaica if he ever makes it back 😄! On the left you have my good friend Stefan a campionite wiz kid who went to uwc, Vassar and SOAS in London with a masters in economic development development . This man is so bright, and qualified! But also extremely competent, affable and just cool. He spends his spare time organizing trips across the world, for his international friends showing them what an amazing time Jamaica can be… When he’s not in call consulting on nation changing projects. He worked for the IDB for ever 4 years and even was appointed as a representative of jamaica Under @drnigelclarkeja. For the last year he’s been working out in Mexico speaking Spanish and consulting on big projects… he’s great. He gets us and he also gets Latin América at a high level and at the deep heady stuff of consulting for large businesses. And he’s coming back home to talk to us on market entry and help Jamaica and the Caribbean learn on September 7th. #redisstrong also he is way too humble to brag like this but he really is great!
