Notes from a recruiter…Here’s the number one reason why remote work is a huge advantage to employers and job seekers: It creates opportunities that didn’t previously exist or wouldn’t exist otherwise. ☑️ Expanded talent pool ☑️ No relocation factors Yes, we can go deep into the other factors as to why flexible working environments (this don’t just mean remote based work) are the way forward but this is a huge benefit from a talent perspective. As a hiring manager, if you’re not seeing the talent you need, stop for a minute and consider what making this role remote based would do and how it could work to really be able to find the skill set you need in the role. Remote work has opened up incredible opportunities for both employers and job seekers. Job seekers can work from anywhere in the world and access higher remuneration or better benefits for their work. They can also have a work-life balance that is much needed. And we, as recruiters, find ourselves in the exciting position of connecting with talent from diverse cultures and countries. However, this new panorama also brings unique challenges, particularly when it comes to verifying the authenticity of candidates in a fully remote hiring process. Yes, because this, while not a new thing, has become quite important in recent years as scams have been frequent. Finally found a suitable use for this meme format. 😑 I don't care if your company doesn't support remote work. But I do get annoyed when the job is listed as remote but in the description it turns out it isn't. 😱 And it happens more than you think! If you offer 100% remote as an option, list it as remote. Even if there is also the option to be Hybrid or on-site full time. That's flexibility to attract a wide range of candidates and accommodates a variety of needs. But if you're using the remote filter to just attract more applicants but aren't willing to offer full-time remote then you're just wasting everyone's time. People filter by remote to save time, not to be tricked into applying for something unsuitable. The job hunt continues.... #remotework #remoteworking #recruitment #jobhunting #HR
