Review of the successful 4th DUMMY.CRASHTEST.CONFERENCE! We are pleased to announce that the 4th DUMMY.CRASHTEST.CONFERENCE was a great success! The event attracted a large number of experts from the automotive and supplier industry, the aircraft industry, research institutes, safety equipment suppliers, accident researchers and the military. Together we discussed the latest developments and innovations in the field of crash tests, dummies and measurement technology. A special highlight was the presentation of the revolutionary PRIMUS dummy, which imitates human-like behavior due to its design and the materials used. This offers a valuable alternative to the standardized crash test dummies, especially in the areas of vibration testing, autonomous driving and the airbag industry. Equally impressive was the use of the THOR dummy from Kistler, which was also in the vehicles during the crash tests. This dummy, developed and produced at the Heidelberg site, is specially designed to determine measured values in a reproducible manner and to ensure the comparability of different tests. The conference also offered a series of exciting presentations on dummy development and production, crash measurement technology, barrier solutions from ERNST and software for data acquisition and evaluation. The program was rounded off by impressive real-life tests on the crash test facility, which provided practical insights into the latest techniques and methods. One test I've always wanted to see is what happens to a person (dummy!) standing in the aisle immediately after touchdown of an airplane when it suddenly brakes hard. 🤔
