Crayon Data’s Post

Today is a day to both mourn and celebrate a special person. Mr Ratan Tata was not just a business visionary, he was also a leader who stood for morality and integrity. His leadership was marked by boldness, the daring to think big and think differently, and the persistence and resilience to see through the long and difficult journey from vision to reality. His innate humility was apparent to all who met him and interacted with him. He was a person who was full of compassion and decency to fellow human beings and to animals, especially dogs. He was a true rock star of a person, the likes of which they do not make in the world of business any more. 
I have had the privilege of meeting Mr Tata twice, first when he met us to invest in Crayon Data, and then when I hosted a fireside chat with him with a small group of business leaders. His warmth arrived before he did, his smile stayed with us all the time, and his aura filled the room after he left.   
 The world owes him a lot, India owes him a lot, the Tata group owes him a lot, Crayon Data and all Crayons owe him a lot. 

Mr Tata, your soul now illumines the reaches of heaven, as well as your being straddled the world. 
And while we mourn your passing, we celebrate a life of service, a life well lived!
