This April CRCHC would like to raise awareness for Oral Cancer. According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, Oral Cancer accounts for roughly three percent of all cancers diagnosed annually in the United States. Risk factors for oral cancers include: - Tobacco and alcohol use - Betel quid chewing - Excess weight - Genetic syndromes - Excess exposure to UV light It is often present as: - A sore - Irritation - Lump or thick patch in your mouth, lip, or throat. - A white or red patch in your mouth. It is important to have regular check-ups/ screenings to ensure your smile is healthy. As with all cancers, early detection is key to increasing the survival rate and decreasing invasive treatments.

At AMMAGENOMICS, the comprehensive diagnosis of gut microbiota, combined with other marker analysis, has significantly improved patient outcomes across various diseases. One key bacterium in this process is *Faecalibacterium prausnitzii*, known for its ability to modulate gut-related issues such as IBS, IBD, colorectal cancer, skin conditions, and even depression. As one of the most abundant bacterial species in the adult human colonic microbiota, *Faecalibacterium prausnitzii* plays a crucial role in reducing the risk of inflammatory diseases. https://lnkd.in/gJhDqy6C

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men, but it’s also one of the most treatable—especially when caught early. Regular screenings are key to early detection, so don’t wait—talk to your doctor about when you should start. Know the signs, understand your risk, and take charge of your health. Common symptoms include unexplained weight loss, bone pain, blood in the urine, and trouble urinating. We offer a PSMA PET/CT, which is an FDA-approved PET/CT scan that measures prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is a type of protein found on the surface of prostate cancer cells. March is colorectal cancer prevention month. I cannot stress enough the importance of discussing colorectal cancer screening with your PCP. Remember, 45 is only the age to start if you are at an 'average risk'. Please discuss any risk factors such as family history of colorectal cancer or polyps with your PCP since you may not be at the average risk and may need an earlier screening. Let's also not forget the importance of fiber when talking about colorectal cancer prevention. The following reference is a good read regarding the importance of increasing fiber in the diet: Reynolds A, Mann J, Cummings J, Winter N, Mete E, Te Morenga L. Carbohydrate quality and human health: a series of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The Lancet. 2019 Feb 2;393(10170):434-45.

Article on : Thyroid Cancer Thyroid lymphomas develop from intrathyroidal lymphoid tissue, whereas sarcomas likely arise from connective tissue in the thyroid gland. Thyroid cancer is one of the few head and neck cancers in the United States whose incidence is increasing, and the incidence-based mortality continues to rise. Overdiagnosis of small, indolent papillary thyroid carcinomas may contribute to some, but not all, of the increase. A rise in obesity, a decrease in smoking prevalence, and reproductive factors may also contribute to the increased incidence. Future research may elucidate other driving forces. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking

Tumor markers are biomolecules present in bodily fluids or tissues that signal the presence of cancer, aiding in its diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment monitoring. Epstein-Barr virus (#EBV), also known as human herpesvirus 4, has been implicated in various malignancies such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and Burkitt's lymphoma, as well as infectious mononucleosis. Daan's EBV test kit provides dependable outcomes, assisting healthcare providers in confirming EBV presence and measuring viral load in patients. Comprehensive performance assessments validate the high specificity, sensitivity, and consistency of this diagnostic tool for EBV, supporting its use in tests for infectious mononucleosis and EBV infections. ✔ Clear differential diagnosis without cross-reactivity. ✔ Early diagnosis enabled by DNA quantification. ✔ Internal standard material monitors the entire process. ✔ Results are easily interpretable. Breast cancer is a complex condition with several subtypes, each requiring a tailored treatment approach. On Cancer Day, it's essential to highlight the importance of understanding these differences. Breast cancers are primarily categorized based on the presence of receptors like estrogen, progesterone, and HER2, which influence treatment options ranging from hormone therapy to targeted drugs. Genetic factors, including BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations, also play a crucial role, with genetic testing helping to guide both prevention strategies and treatment plans. Expert guidance from healthcare professionals is vital in navigating the diagnosis, understanding the specific type of breast cancer, and choosing the most effective treatment. This Cancer Day, let's spread awareness about the diverse nature of breast cancer and the importance of personalized care and support systems in improving outcomes for those affected. #cancerday #cancercare #cancersupport #health #healthcare #healthylife #bhaktivedantahospital

The rate at which oral cancer spreads varies significantly depending on several factors. Including the type of oral cancer, its location, the overall health of the patient, and whether it has been previously treated. Generally, oral cancers can be categorized into slow-growing and fast-growing types. Slow-growing cancers might take months or even years to spread significantly, while aggressive types can spread more rapidly, sometimes within weeks or a few months. This variability underscores the importance of early detection and treatment. Regular dental check-ups, awareness of symptoms, and prompt medical attention when changes are noticed in the mouth are crucial in managing oral cancer effectively. Early intervention greatly increases the chances of successful treatment and limits the potential for the cancer to spread. Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is a serious and often fatal disease that originates in the lining of the stomach. It ranks as the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Despite advancements in medical science, stomach cancer remains a significant global health challenge due to its typically late diagnosis and poor prognosis. This essay explores the etiology, risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies associated with stomach cancer. Etiology and Pathogenesis Stomach cancer typically begins in the mucus-producing cells that line the stomach, developing slowly over many years. The most common type is adenocarcinoma, but other forms include lymphomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and neuroendocrine tumors. The exact cause of stomach cancer is not fully understood, but it is believed to result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. #stomachcancer #gastriccancer #cancertreatment
