🎉 Reflecting on a Year of Impact and Innovation 🎉 As 2024 comes to a close, the ThinkPlace UK team reflects on the challenges we’ve tackled, the partnerships we’ve forged, and the meaningful impact we’ve created together. 🌍✨ This year has been one of immense growth and collaboration, driven by our commitment to designing with—not for—the communities we serve. Our 2024 highlights include: 🌟 Co-creating inclusive solutions: Empowering over 100 SMEs across Africa and the Middle East through innovative, design-led approaches, advancing youth employment and social impact with initiatives like the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE). 🌟 Strengthening partnerships: Building trust and alignment for long-term success, including supporting Cambridge Cleantech in brokering and strengthening connections among ClimateTech ecosystem actors in the UK and Europe’s 'SuperCluster' to advance collaborative innovation. 🌟 Driving insights into action: Partnering with Wellcome Trust to inform global infectious disease strategies by capturing grassroots insights, ensuring vulnerable communities are central to health solutions. 🌟 Expanding our reach: Connecting people and ideas globally to address critical challenges. Highlights include collaborating with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change to explore low-orbit satellites for digital connectivity in disaster-affected areas. At the heart of all these achievements is the power of collaboration. None of this would have been possible without our incredible clients, partners, and the communities we’ve worked alongside. 🏞️ The Road Ahead: Shaping 2025 In 2025, we’ll build on these lessons, focusing on diversifying funding, deepening expertise in areas like climate engagement, and leveraging our strengths in systems thinking and social behaviour change. We’ll continue fostering partnerships with universities, private sector actors, and local organisations to amplify impact and align with global priorities, creating scalable, sustainable solutions for the challenges ahead. To everyone who has been part of our journey—thank you for your dedication, creativity, and vision. Here’s to an even greater impact in 2025! 💡🌟 #SocialImpact #DesignForImpact #ThinkPlace #InclusiveInnovation #YearInReview #2025Goals

It was a privilege to be part of such meaningful conversations, and the setting of Kin House added its own poetic resonance to our collective mission. The Summit underscored several critical themes, including the climate transition challenge, many of which were discussed during our panel that day. I am so grateful for all of your contributions. While I can't divulge the details, I’d like to highlight some of the many interconnected priorities we discussed: 🔹 Decarbonization and Circular Economies: We discussed the industries at work and behind on this next industrial revolution, highlighting the global food system as a sector with immense mitigation potential but a massive funding gap that requires urgent attention. 🔹 Just Transitions and Inclusion: A key theme was the role of institutions in fostering trust and addressing inequities in climate funding. One of the alarming disparities was that 0.2% of climate funding reaches women, despite their critical role in creating decentralized and resilient systems. 🔹 Reimagining Metrics: Beyond carbon, we must include other metrics such as biodiversity, waste, pollution, and resource depletion into the equation. These hidden costs reflect the unsustainable foundations of our old industrial systems. 🔹 Energy Innovation: Achieving a localized energy supply while ensuring land is used for its best purpose—not just its most profitable one—presents both challenges and opportunities. Ideas like dual-use grazing lands and solar farms are exciting examples of the creativity needed. Spaces like the Time Partners Summit remind us of the power of dialogue in shaping actionable insights. The candid exchanges and shared vision for a more inclusive and sustainable future truly stood out. Thank you to our panel speakers and engaged guests, I’m already looking forward to next year’s Summit and the conversations it will spark! #ClimateTransition #CircularEconomy #Decarbonization #ClimateFinance #WomenInLeadership #EnergyInnovation
As the snow fell over Kin House on the second day of the Time Partners 2024 Summit, it served as a poetic backdrop to the conversations taking place inside. From the role of institutions in maintaining trust and combating misinformation, to the interplay of digital infrastructure and energy, each discussion pushed boundaries and questioned norms. The quiet revolution of the circular economy and the decarbonisation of industries sets the precedent for the next decade—to act to make businesses more responsible, seek out modern slavery, and consider the role of women in decentralised, complementary growth. For three days, a curated group of global leaders came together to delve deeply into some of the most pressing issues of the next decade, all under the Chatham House Rules, ensuring a candid and collaborative atmosphere. No pitches, no self-promotion—just ideas, debate, and a rare chance to step outside the noise of the everyday and focus solely on the substance. The conversations were unfiltered, thought-provoking, and deeply personal. The Time Partners Summit was a space dedicated entirely to learning, challenging assumptions, and fostering genuine dialogue. It was a privilege to witness such candid exchanges and to walk away with new perspectives, sharper questions, and a little awe at what can happen when the right people come together in the right space. We are already in the process of selecting dates for the 2025 Summit and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another round of inspiring conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their insights, and braved the winter chill to make this a truly special gathering.

Spent the last couple days at the Australian Red Cross Humanitech summit listening to big ideas and thought-provoking discussions from world-leading innovation experts and practitioners, with inspiring showcases of real-world practice. Here are some of my takeaways: 1. Risk is part of the innovation equation 2. The sector needs to fund the problem not the solutions (flexible funding) 3. We need to democratise agency 4. Community-led innovation will change the world 5. Innovation needs leverage + courage 6. We cannot go it alone, we need coalitions to solve big problems 7. We need to be community-obsessed 8. Recognise community engagement as a skill set 9. We need a growth mindset, be a learn it all not a know it all 10. Data as a superpower (*and here is a pic from last year's summit having a conversation with some of my favorite innovators that I have ever worked with) #innovation #communityled
