✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. This month, we’ve been sharing tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, including how checking your own privilege helps you to be more supportive, calling out discrimination, and remembering that everyone is unique with individual lived experiences. 👉 Allyship Tip 4: Be receptive to feedback 👈 Being open, receptive and listening to feedback from other people is so important. They may want to highlight something you could have done differently, give some advice so you can be more supportive, or educate you on their lived experiences or those of the LGBTQ+ community. Listening, not being defensive when being corrected, and allowing the other person to share openly with you will all go towards enabling you to be a better ally and better support to your LGBTQ+ peers! #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. This month, we’ve been sharing tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, including how checking your own privilege helps you to be more supportive, and that you shouldn’t underestimate the power of calling out discrimination against LGBTQ+ people. 👉 Allyship Tip 3: Everyone is different! 👈 Meeting one trans person, means you’ve met one trans person. This goes for anyone within the LGBTQ+ community (or any marginalised community for that matter!). Everyone’s lived experiences and situations are completely different and each person should be treated as an individual. Don’t make assumptions about how that person wants to be referred to, how much information they feel comfortable sharing, or how much support they need, based on other LGBTQ+ people you have met. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and as an individual, so take the time to understand each person. #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent
