#aayaadi #vaastushastra , an ancient Indian science of #architecturedesign and #constructionwork, emphasizes the harmonious balance between nature and architecture to create spaces that promote #healthylifestyle , #happiness , and #prosperity. A fundamental aspect of #vaastushastra is the use of Aayaadi formulas, which are mathematical calculations used to determine the ideal dimensions and proportions of a building. Aayaadi Vaastu formulas are derived from ancient texts and are based on the #belief that every structure has a unique energy field that influences the lives of its occupants. By adhering to these formulas, #architects and #builders can create spaces that are in harmony with the natural forces, thereby enhancing the well-being and prosperity of the inhabitants. One of the key Aayaadi formulas used in Vaastu Shastra is the calculation of the Aayaadi number, which is based on the dimensions of the building. The Aayaadi number is believed to represent the energy of the building and is used to determine the auspiciousness of the structure. It is believed that buildings with certain Aayaadi numbers are more conducive to health, wealth, and overall prosperity. Another important Aayaadi formula is the calculation of the #Brahmasthan, which is the central area of the building. According to Vaastu Shastra, the Brahmasthan is the most important part of the building as it is believed to be the seat of cosmic energy. By ensuring that the Brahmasthan is free from any obstructions or disturbances, architects can create spaces that are in harmony with the natural forces, thereby enhancing the well-being of the occupants. In addition to these, there are several other Aayaadi formulas used in Vaastu Shastra, each serving a specific purpose in determining the ideal dimensions and proportions of a building. By incorporating these formulas into their designs, architects and builders can create spaces that not only look aesthetically pleasing but also promote health, happiness, and prosperity. In conclusion, Aayaadi formulas play a crucial role in Vaastu Shastra as they help architects and builders create spaces that are in harmony with the natural forces. By adhering to these formulas, architects can create buildings that promote health, happiness, and prosperity, making Vaastu Shastra a truly holistic science of architecture.

Culture informs context. When woven into the designs, these influences represent both the history and foresight of the environment they belong to. The redevelopment of Ayodhya to envision a 21st-century blueprint demanded a futuristic approach that also looked at the tiniest nuances of this ancient town and its established values. Monumental expansions like that of the Sarayu riverfront, hospitality avenues, and marketplaces contribute to the fast-evolving cultural icon. The design seamlessly unifies with the socio-political context by adapting to its emerging needs. 💫 Real estate on Maui is certainly never boring. Some of the most incredible experiences I’ve had in my 18+ years here have been while “working.” 🙃 And boy, last night was one for the books! Mother Nature cooperated in all her glory to give us an epic sunset, sunrise, and crystal clear nighttime skies to shoot the Milky Way. I can’t wait to see the pro shots from the talented Chris Archer 🤩 . PS - How lucky are Christopher Barca and I to be able to share this HaikuModern.com property with the world!? Most places on Maui are fortunate to get just one of these views… sunset, sunrise, or clear skies, and we’ve got all three in addition to an architectural jewel! 💎 . . . #milkywayphotography #haikumaui #northshore #contemporaryarchitecture #mauihomes #hawaiihomes #sustainabledesign #oceanfront #architexture #archilover #architecturedaily #luxuryatcompass

MahabaliAUTO: From Ancient Temples to Modern Mobility: The Journey of Innovation 🌟 As an architect deeply rooted in the rich heritage of Mahabalipuram temple architecture, I've always been inspired by the timeless principles of design, craftsmanship, and innovation. Today, I'm thrilled to share how these ancient wisdoms have transcended time to influence my latest projects – designing auto-rickshaws, delivery trucks, and commuter buses. Here are 8 key points on this fascinating journey: 1️⃣ Heritage Meets Modernity: Drawing from the intricate carvings and structural marvels of Mahabalipuram temples, I've infused elements of timeless beauty and grace into the design of modern-day transportation vehicles. 2️⃣ Ergonomic Excellence: Just as the temple architecture prioritizes human comfort and experience, I've applied ergonomic principles to ensure optimal comfort, safety, and efficiency for passengers and drivers alike. 3️⃣ Sustainable Solutions: Inspired by the eco-conscious ethos of ancient builders, I've integrated sustainable design practices such as lightweight materials, energy-efficient systems, and emission-reducing technologies into vehicle design. 4️⃣ Cultural Connectivity: Each design reflects the cultural identity and local context, celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of communities while fostering a sense of belonging among passengers. 5️⃣ Community Collaboration: Collaborating closely with local artisans, engineers, and stakeholders, I've honored the tradition of collective craftsmanship, infusing every vehicle with a spirit of collaboration and innovation. 6️⃣ Accessible Accessibility: Taking cues from the inclusive architecture of temple entrances, I've prioritized accessibility features to ensure that transportation remains accessible to all, regardless of physical abilities. 7️⃣ Iconic Iconography: From intricate motifs to symbolic imagery, I've incorporated elements of temple iconography into vehicle exteriors, transforming each vehicle into a moving piece of art that tells a story. 8️⃣ Future Forward: Embracing the spirit of innovation that has defined Mahabalipuram for centuries, I'm excited to continue pushing the boundaries of transportation design, exploring new frontiers of sustainability, technology, and human-centric design. Join me on this extraordinary journey as we bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern mobility, shaping a future where innovation is rooted in tradition and sustainability is synonymous with progress. Together, let's reimagine transportation for a brighter, more connected world. 🚗✨ #TempleToTransportation #Innovation #SustainableDesign #MahabalipuramMagic

During our last trip to Japan we decided to learn and learn from Kintsugi. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with precious metals, embodies a philosophy that sees imperfections as an integral part of an object's history. Rooted in the principles of wabi-sabi, Kintsugi values the wear marks and highlights the significance of cracks and repairs as essential events in an object's life. This philosophy aligns with the concept of "Waste not, want not," emphasizing the importance of cherishing and prolonging the life of objects rather than discarding them. We learnt from Kintsugi: that in architecture and urban design, the principles of Kintsugi offer a unique perspective on how the built environment can emulate this art form: Firstly, the preservation of history in urban design mirrors the process of repairing pottery with gold, showcasing the history and cultural significance of existing structures. By integrating old buildings with new designs, urban spaces can achieve a harmonious blend of the past and the present. Secondly, adaptive reuse practices in architecture parallel the essence of Kintsugi by repurposing existing structures while honoring their historical value. This approach promotes sustainability by reducing waste and preserving the heritage of buildings. Embracing imperfections in architectural design, such as weathering and aging materials, adds character and authenticity to urban spaces. By incorporating these flaws into the design process, architects and urban designers can create unique and meaningful environments that reflect the passage of time. Moreover, sustainable architecture and urban design, akin to Kintsugi's value of repair and reuse, prioritize eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency, and long-term durability. By adopting sustainable practices, urban developments can minimize their environmental impact and promote a more resilient built environment. Lastly, community engagement plays a vital role in urban design, mirroring Kintsugi's emphasis on maintaining and repairing objects. Involving local residents in the design process and preserving cultural heritage fosters a sense of ownership and pride in the built environment, creating spaces that resonate with the community's values and identity. In conclusion, the application of Kintsugi's principles to architecture and urban design offers a holistic approach that values history, sustainability, authenticity, and community engagement. By embracing imperfections and cherishing the stories embedded in the built environment, architects and urban designers can create spaces that reflect the beauty of resilience, continuity, and cultural significance. 'Texture is man's best friend.' Words by Kengo Kuma. The film-manifesto 'Softness' (2021, sub. Cristiana Colli, dir. Francesca Molteni, (https://lnkd.in/dJv3Gtm4) gives voice to important architects, artists, philosophers. They are all important protagonists united by the need to create spaces, buildings, structures in which Man can feel at ease, in as optimal a relationship with Nature as possible. It is within this context that Kengo Kuma (KENGO KUMA & ASSOCIATES) defines Texture as 'Humanity's best friend,' juxtaposing it with Form, with which Humanity, in his opinion, has a less intimate relationship. The definition of the famous Japanese architect questions the five senses that humans use to interface with the surrounding environment. Man's well-being greatly depends on the satisfaction of all his senses when he is immersed in nature and in his own creations, the latter made with materials that he himself has identified and selected among the immense offering of Nature since the dawn of time. Acquired gradually, technology then allowed to transform them from natural finds into something durable and beautiful. #imesh #kengokuma #softarchitecture #architecturalexcellence #imeshinnovation
