#GPMPassion | Under the endeavour of the Indian Railways and RLDA, GPM has undertaken the redevelopment and design of roughly 26 railway Stations across India, including Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Yesvantpur (Bengaluru), Jodhpur and more. Currently, urban infrastructure, especially transport hubs, are treated as isolated envelopes of development and do not converge to form a larger picture. We at GPM believe that the new-age transit nodes should be looked at from a broader perspective on an urban scale that facilitates ease of access for pedestrians and cyclists and gives preference to the renewed norms of public transport. Apart from fulfilling functional requirements, the redeveloped stations are also envisioned to have state-of-the-art passenger facilities, parking needs, retail options, and food courts, activating these urban hubs. Good morning, Kolkata! 🌆 We came across something exceptionally exciting and could not wait to share with our community. 😁 The iconic Bengal Aerotropolis Project located in Durgapur is all set to allocate land for IT offices. 🏗 Let us take a look at what the Bengal Aerotropolis Project stands as currently and its outlay - 🌟 Bengal Aerotropolis Project is the manifestation of BAPL’s dream of building the first privately owned and managed Greenfield Airport City in India. 🌟 An Airport (Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport), an Industrial zone (493 acres), a Logistics Hub and a supporting Township – all, just a 15 minute drive from Durgapur, situated on the Golden Quadrilateral of India, along National Highway 2; proximate to Andal Railway Junction, under Ludhiana-Dankuni Freight Corridor. 🌟 Currently, land allotment for IT offices has also begun for an undeclared total acreage. We, at Kolkata IT Hub, welcome this amazing step for the establishment of an IT vision project at Durgapur. The establishment of Tier 2 IT destinations in the state is a laudable step. 🙌 Yet, we want to draw attention of the authorities for better marketing of this initiative. We had not heard of it , until we accidentally stumbled on it. Such an ambition initiative needs the prowess of all facets of establishment to work for it. Kindly consider our humble opinion on the same. 🙏 For more such updates keep following Kolkata IT Hub page and follow the hashtag - #kolkataithub #aerocity #aerotropolis #greenfield #airport #logistics #industrial #township #durgapur #informationtechnology #techcommunity #kolkata #kolkataithub #kolkatabuzz #westbengal #bengal

For example, the Jaipur Railway Station will showcase elements reminiscent of the Hawa Mahal and Amer Fort from Rajasthan. 🌟 Key Benefits of the Scheme - The redevelopment project promises modern passenger amenities, a shift towards green energy dependency, and a significant reduction in emissions. 🚇 Exploring Indian Railways: Some Fascinating Facts - Indian Railways, established on April 16, 1853, stands as the world's fourth-largest railway network. Four UNESCO Heritage sites fall under the Indian Railways umbrella, including the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, Nilgiri Mountain Railway, and Kalka Shimla Railway. 🚉 World Records - Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Junction in Karnataka holds the record for the world's longest railway platform at an impressive 1,505 meters. 🚂 Longest and Shortest Train Rides - The Vivek Express takes the crown for the longest train ride, covering a distance of 4,189 kilometres from Kanyakumari to Dibrugarh in 82 hours and 30 minutes, with 56 stops. Conversely, the shortest train ride spans just 3 kilometres between Nagpur and Ajni. 🌉 Engineering Marvels - India proudly hosts the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, Nagpur, Maharashtra, is home to the famous Diamond Crossing, where two railway tracks form a square-like diamond shape, with two lines running North-South and two lines running East-West. As if my mild phobia for flying wasn't enough, we now have roofs collapsing over people at airports. And they say it's because of rains! 1. Delhi Aiport T1 2. Jabalpur Airport 3. Guwahati Airport 4. Rajkot airport 5. Ahmedabad Airport (leaking and about to fall) Holding rains responsible is an easy way to avoid accountability. But there are a lot of questions that must be answered by powers that be. 1. Who are the Architects involved? Was there a design fault? 2. Which company built the structure? Did profit override safety in execution? 3. Which company was responsible for the upkeep and maintenance? Were they negligent in discharging their duties? 4. Who authorised usage of obviously substandard material? 4. Which agency/authority approved or accepted such faulty projects? 5. Were there no warning signs? Why and how they were ignored and by whom? 6. When and by whom the structure was last checked or recertified? If not, why? 7. Most importantly, how are we flyers ever going to feel safe now at our airports? Feeling disgusted by the incompetence and greediness that has made our nation a laughing stock world over. Yes, this news has reached almost every country and my overseas friends and business associates are asking if they should wait for the rainy season to get over before they visit India. Pathetic!

#GPMInsights | This World Public Transport Day, let's take a look at the advantages of smooth-running and efficient public transit nodes and their effect on Urban Cities. At GPM, we believe that Transit Oriented Development catalyses the growth of thriving cities and needs to be looked at as a channel of economic revitalisation and social upliftment. Under the endeavour of the Indian Railways and RLDA, we undertook the redevelopment and design of several railway Stations, including Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Muzaffarpur, Yeshwantpur (Bengaluru) and Jodhpur. Apart from fulfilling functional requirements, these new projects are designed to accommodate all safety protocols to enable a seamless and safe transportation experience for the passengers. Especially considering the heavy footfall, the movement of the arriving and departing passengers is designed in a segregated manner. The redeveloped stations are also envisioned with state-of-the-art passenger facilities, parking needs, retail options, and food courts, activating these urban hubs.
