🎃 👻 Halloween Edition Reminder: every so often, let your team have some fun—you never know what new ideas they might bring to the table! Last year, my team and I had been deep into our regular PIM content—practical, valuable...but a little repetitive. So, I decided to shake things up and give the team a creative reset: "Create anything you want. Let's have fun with it” Irene had been wanting to try her hand at directing and pitched a fun Halloween-themed video. I told her to go for it! Of course, I knew I'd need to justify the time spent on it to upper management, but the point here was creativity, not constraints, so I set a timeframe and gave her full freedom to create whatever she wanted. Once she finished her version of the video, I gathered the team and asked, “Okay, now how can we connect this back to Plytix?” That brainstorming session sparked a fun twist on Halloween: using the theme to show just how scary preparing for the holiday season can be. In the end, it didn’t make the cut, but that's okay. That session ended up sparking new ideas that ultimately shifted the way we approached our content. Sometimes, the best projects are the ones that don’t go live. They’re the ones where your team feels the freedom to take risks, to break out of the usual and make something uniquely theirs. This video may have stayed on the cutting room floor, but the impact it had on our creativity and teamwork was priceless.
