I never liked accepting the design jobs whereby I was only hired to create tech packs and tech packs alone. Grateful for the work but at the same time my heart used to sink with a “oh no , it’s one of those jobs again". Excitement was lacking (to say the least) and I didn’t feel inspired to want to build a lasting relationship. Hiring a freelance fashion designer can be so much more than having them create a finished tech pack. Bringing so much more support for a fashion brand and business. This is where the real 'magic' happens: ▶︎ fabric sourcing ( knowledge is priceless, especially where sustainability is concerned). ▶︎ inspiration and research (lots more ideas no one else had thought of before -again priceless). ▶︎ design development (more options for a design range, bearing in mind the complexities of zero waste & upcycling practices). No one knows what's ever possible until someone has tried something new. Even if the idea is to have a small capsule collection- it’s still worth it..
