When I joined Brandwatch almost 3 years ago, I didn't have a background in MarTech or selling data. And I was nervous about trying something new that wasn't in the technical wheelhouse I had already honed. I found the role unexpectedly through my network. I founded a Women in Revenue employee resource group at my previous company because I saw a lack of female leadership, particularly on the revenue team. I found a female VP of Sales and was excited to bring her in to meet our group. We ended up hitting it off and starting an informal interview process. I interviewed with my now-manager, who was in the process of moving from Account Executive to Sales Manager. We hit it off instantly. She is the most genuine and supportive person I have ever had the pleasure of working with and I feel so fortunate to be on her team. Through ups and downs, her leadership keeps me at Brandwatch. Since Brandwatch has joined forces with several top MarTech companies, like Falcon and Paladin, to create one monster suite, the team has grown as well. Brandwatch’s sales team is filled with some of the hardest working, humble, and kind folks I have worked with. There is a culture of healthy competition and genuine celebration for each other’s wins - this culture directly stems from Manager and Director leadership. What has kept you at your company? p.s. if you are interested in joining Brandwatch, the sales team is hiring - link in the comments!

Get to know Ayaka Otsuka, our Strategic Solutions Senior Coordinator! ⚡️ Q: Did you always have a desire to work in sports? A: Yes, I did! I played multiple sports growing up. Sports have always been the center of my life. I also wanted to expand my perspectives, so I decided to move to the U.S. and work in sports in this country. Q: How’d you get your start? A: My career started with the LA Sparks when I was in college, where I was able to learn about corporate partnerships, from sales to activations. After graduation, I started working at the Chargers as a seasonal assistant for the Corporate Partnerships department. Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job and why? A: Not an exact part of my job but I enjoy the whole process of creating partnership solutions with internal and external teams. I can feel a little achievement and growth every time I get a project completed with coworkers. Q: What advice do you have for those trying to get into sports/starting their career in the sports industry? A: Be bold to go with your gut! Once you find out what you would like to pursue, enjoy every step and experience to get to your goal. There are always people who support you along the way. Q: How has your heritage shaped the person you are today? A: Born and raised in Japan, I was taught that being humble is an important aspect as a human being. You should appreciate the people that surround you and be respectful and considerate towards others. This value helps me keep growing. Q: As we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, what are some aspects of your culture that you enjoy sharing with others? A: Japanese food and anime culture. Food and pop culture can be a tool to share good times and experiences with people who have different backgrounds and cultures. I think that is a great thing! #workinsports #strategicsolutions

Coaching business owners and leaders to maximise Digital Marketing Strategy | Speaker | Mentor | Award Winning Digital Marketing Agency Owner est 2010
I left my dream job, because there were zero growth opportunities. I had been at Revlon for over a year, when my manager, the head of Marketing said to me "I am never leaving this role." And I realised quickly that meant I was never going to progress further then a Brand Manager, unless she made a change. I loved my role at Revlon, I had practically a lifetime supply of make up, was able to really shape my product portfolio and my favourite bit - design gift with purchase programs! But at the ripe old age of 25, the thought of not having anywhere else to go in the organisation, gave me itchy feet, and within 12 months I had moved on to Elizabeth Arden. I think about that experience often, when I am mentoring younger Marketing professionals and when I meet with my own team. I continually think about what's next for them, and lead open discussions about where they can grow within Wise Up, or when they may need to move on to find that growth. The truth is, if you're not growing, you're going backward. So it's important to chase that growth, and challenge yourself to keep evolving. #businessmentor #careercoach #businessowner

Founder & CEO at QuantiVision - Increase the quality of hires by over 100% and save yourself from unwanted turnover!
I often encounter this point of view: “#Hiring 🤝 and #Promotions ⬆ are completely different - one is pure guesswork and the other is just apparent since you work together”. It begs the question: why is the Peter Principle still so prominent? It just supports the fact that #hiring and #promotions have significant intersections - in both cases you need to define and evaluate the #potential for the next role. Comment below or pm wether you agree or have another stance on this issue!

Top Dog 🐶 Revenue Generation Expert for Small to Midsize Businesses 💸 Growth Specialist 🚀 Helping Companies Overachieve 🌟 and...Part-time Gymbro 💪
I'm taking a break from hiring for a bit... This is a phrase I catch myself saying, only to end up bringing someone new on board shortly after. LinkedIn is always checking if I have openings, but truth be told, I often find it hard to resist top talent. When I introduced PPC & Amazon ads, or later expanded into design & branding, I wasn't actively looking to hire. As we boosted our sales capabilities in category & industry, I wasn't in recruitment mode. To be honest, I don't know who hired our Videographer & Photographer; I think he won me over with Starbucks and now I pay him 😳 While adding to our team benefits our clients, I must admit that recruitment is a pain in my arse. On the first day I always have to pretend I'm in the gym at 6 & ready for work at 9. Then I have to deal with the bullying towards me in our group chats and people saying "it's giving..." which makes me feel old. So, for now, I'm holding off on hiring... unless, of course, you're exceptional, available, cheap, nice to me, want to do lunch dates or pretend to be my best friend over Starbucks. After all, never say never, right? 😉 #recruitment #teamwork #neversaynever #toughlife #imnotoldreallyimsupercoolhonestly
