Today’s tip may surprise you 😱 Keep those unused accounts open! Why? Account age makes up 15% of your FICO score. So, closing an unused $0 account can actually hurt your credit score AND hike up your credit utilization. Which is a no-go for maintaining a healthy score. ✅

"I believe a formal education will make you a living but self education can make you a fortune and build a legacy."
Did you know that there are two different types of credit inquiries? Hard inquiries, also known as "hard pulls," occur when a lender or creditor checks your credit report during a credit application process. These inquiries may impact your FICO® Score. On the other hand, soft inquiries, or "soft pulls," are reviews of your credit file that do not impact your FICO Score. Soft pulls include reviews of existing accounts by lenders, prescreening inquiries by prospective lenders, and your requests for your annual credit report. Stay informed about your credit and make sure you understand the impact of different types of inquiries. #creditinquiries #creditscores #financialliteracy

Mentioned yesterday the importance of having a Cash-Flow tool. In order for it to be effective, you will need to have confidence in the monies in, monies out. Monies out is the easy one! Monies in is all about your credit control procedures. Unfortunately you can't just rely on one hundred percentage of monies coming in when due because you expect them to. Below should help; ▪ Clear Payment Terms on your Invoicing and Due Date. ▪ Ensure relevant supporting documentation received. ▪ Issue Invoices timely with supporting documentation and confirm with customers AP to ensure all in order and ready to go on payment run for when due. ▪ Keep legible Copies. ▪ Check back in with Customers AP a week in advance of expected payment run to ensure all in order e.g. if they mislaid back-up, you can get a copy to them timely. ▪ Always remember you have fore-filled your side of the transaction, it is not unreasonable to ensure you are paid when due.
