In April 2023 we launched out of private beta, and in a month our customers were using Credal to enforce data access controls & protect PII across over a thousand prompts/completions. In the following months we experienced insane growth, and in July, I published a growth chart showing what felt like breathtaking usage volume: tens of thousands of completions now protected by Credal per month (this is the first of the two graphs below). Now all that growth, which felt surreal at the time, rounds to 0 vs the growth we've experienced since (2nd graph). Over the course of this week & next I'll be sharing a little bit more about the journey here. Including what mistakes we made and what we learned along the way to follow on from our post last year about what we learned from YC, how we generated all this growth with an absolutely tiny team of just 2 founders and 2 incredible engineers (h/t Thomas Mathew and Benjamin Auriemma), what were the hardest and lowest moments of that journey and how we pulled together and kept each other going, and finally - what the next year holds. It took us 1 month to reach our second million.
