#WhatImSeeing - Elon Musk 🚀 The video in the link below perfectly demonstrates why #ElonMusk is such an outstanding manufacturing CEO. A college professor asks Musks over a Zoom call why SpaceX uses seemingly heavy (therefore BAD for rockets!) Stainless Steel rather than cutting edge Carbon Fibre (super light!) in the hull of the Starship launcher, that just recently had a successful trial run. What follows is a master class in manufacturing excellence. With no prior preparation or notes, Musk expertly breaks down the cost benefit calculation and gives figures in clear and concise language. It demonstrates his logical and systematic thinking as well as his ability to break problems down to their most basic level and arrive at very counterintuitively simple solutions to complex manufacturing problems. This is why SpaceX is such an outstanding success. We can all learn from this example. https://lnkd.in/dNtPNQ3u TCPL Packaging #manufacturingexcellence #jugaad #materials #manufacturing

Head - Global Operations at AXZORA Group | Board of Director NBOTAC | Niagara Falls Innovation Hub | Mentor at YEDI
Elon Musk has introduced a new term, the "IDIOT INDEX," stirring curiosity across industries. This term, linked to manufacturing efficiency, aids businesses in identifying areas for cost reduction by comparing final product prices to raw material costs. A high index signals potential for optimizing production processes and sourcing cost-effective suppliers. SpaceX's achievement in creating affordable rockets was partly attributed to this innovative concept, shedding light on unnecessary complexities that inflated costs. Despite its informal nature, the "IDIOT INDEX" presents a beneficial strategy for companies to uncover and rectify inefficiencies, ultimately enhancing overall productivity. #ElonMusk #ManufacturingEfficiency #CostReduction #BusinessEfficiency #SpaceX #Innovation

Elon Musk: Genius Innovator or Alien in Disguise? We need to seriously question if Elon Musk is human or an alien! He privatized the rocket industry despite opposition from Neil Armstrong, his idol. Rocket boosters used to be one-time use, sinking into the ocean. Elon said no, they should be reused, and he made it happen, even risking SpaceX’s bankruptcy. Now, he’s working on catching boosters with a movable tower, which seemed impossible but is actually safer and easier than landing on a pad. Despite no formal rocket science training, Elon’s deep understanding comes from self-study, which continues to astonish experts. #ElonMusk #RocketScience #SpaceX #Innovation #TechGenius #SpaceExploration #FutureTech

SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, is making substantial investments in Filtronic, a British engineering firm originally started in a professor's garage. In exchange for selling $60m of components, SpaceX will gain the ability to convert warrants into a total of 10% of Filtronic shares. Filtronic, originally established in 1977 to supply parts for military aircraft, later became a key supplier for Nokia mobile phones. Despite losing substantial market value after the dotcom bubble burst, it's now valued at around £110m. Through this new deal, Filtronic aims to advance its manufacturing scale and execute its technology roadmap. This significant development will allow Filtronic to further align with SpaceX, a leading operator in low earth orbit satellite constellations. High-speed, low-latency broadband internet via the Starlink network will continue to connect millions globally.

𝗔𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗸 (𝟮/𝗻): One striking aspect of Musk’s personality is: 𝟮. 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 ⚡ Here's a story that perfectly captures it: Tom Mueller, working on the Merlin engine for SpaceX, proposed an aggressive schedule for one version. Musk’s response? "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳*𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴? 𝗖𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳." 🗣️ Mueller was shocked and said it was impossible. Musk replied: "𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧*𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦." 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁? 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲! 🔥 Later, Mueller reflected: “𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘬’𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦.” 🎯 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻? Never say "no" to Elon. Instead, say you'll try—and later explain if it doesn't work out. Musk’s approach of unrealistic deadlines pushed his engineers to think with 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 and break boundaries. 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆? Setting unrealistic goals, having 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 and 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 can push boundaries and achieve what seems impossible. 💡 #Leadership #Innovation #ElonMusk #SpaceX #FirstPrinciples #BoldThinking #HighPerformance

Going from 130$/kg carbon fibre to 4$/kg SS30X there is hell lot of efforts, testing & multiple iterations until you get the desired results. This can only be achieved by out of the box thinking and when you are focused on end results not the process as general.

What is the thought process of rich people? Why do they become different from normal citizens. 💰💰💰🕵️🏆💰💰💰 The thought process of wealthy individuals can often be characterized by a few key traits: a focus on long-term goals, strategic risk-taking, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. They typically approach problems with a mindset that values innovation, efficiency, and resilience. A notable example is Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. Musk's approach to problem-solving and decision-making illustrates these traits vividly. For instance, in the early days of SpaceX, Musk faced numerous challenges. In 2008, SpaceX was on the verge of bankruptcy after a series of failed rocket launches. Musk personally invested much of his own money into the company to keep it afloat, demonstrating a high tolerance for risk and a long-term vision for the company's success. Musk's thought process involved not just investing financially but also personally working through technical problems. His hands-on approach to engineering and management, combined with his ability to think outside traditional boundaries, played a crucial role in SpaceX's eventual success. By 2015, SpaceX successfully landed its first reusable rocket, a major breakthrough that revolutionized space travel and demonstrated Musk's ability to turn seemingly insurmountable challenges into opportunities for innovation. Real life example A notable real-life experience of Elon Musk is the story behind SpaceX’s Falcon 1 rocket. In 2006, SpaceX was a fledgling company with high ambitions but faced significant challenges. The Falcon 1, SpaceX's first orbital rocket, was designed to be a low-cost alternative to existing rockets. After a series of development challenges, the Falcon 1's first three launches ended in failure. The second failure occurred in March 2007, just a few months after Musk had invested significant personal funds into the project. Each failure was a major setback, but Musk’s resolve was unshaken. Despite the financial strain and growing skepticism from the aerospace community, he continued to pour his own money into SpaceX, demonstrating his commitment and belief in the project's potential. In July 2008, on the fourth attempt, SpaceX finally achieved success with the Falcon 1, making it the first privately funded liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit. This success was a pivotal moment for SpaceX and validated Musk's approach and investment. It also set the stage for future achievements, including the development of the Falcon 9 rocket and the company's eventual success in reducing the cost of space travel. This experience showcases Musk's willingness to take substantial personal and financial risks and his resilience in the face of repeated setbacks. His determination and vision were crucial in overcoming the difficulties SpaceX faced in its early days. This story highlights how wealthy individuals are. #richcommunity #businessmen #elonmusk
