Build the company you would want to work for. 🧱 👷♂️ 🏢 I'm a month in to my journey at VitaTek and this has been one of the coolest things to have a front row seat to see Jason Scherer do as CEO. Everyone hates those Holiday weeks where half the team takes 2-3 extra days off and then the other half of the team has a "zombie" week where they can kind of push a few things forward but a bunch of it is just waiting for the other half of the team, and by the way most of your customers, to get back in to the office to respond. Why not just give everyone those weeks off? Done. ✅ VitaTek closes the office for 4th of July week, Thanksgiving week, and Christmas & New Year's weeks for the team to rest and recharge with their families. A few weeks ago we were working on updating our Payroll and Benefits systems to match our rapid company growth. We got on the walkthrough call with the vendor and Jason immediately cut to the chase and asked - are these health benefit plan options better than our current ones? If not we are not switching. Guess what? They were similar but not *better.* We didn't switch. It didn't matter it would have saved the company a good chunk of money but cost the employees a little bit more. Then last week Allison planned a fun company golf outing for us. Just a 9 hole scramble on a summer Friday close by to the office. We were done by 9:30am. Afterwards we should go back to the office and grind an almost full day of work, right? Nope, Jason said go enjoy the rest of your Friday! For a team that is constantly saying no to the status quo and disrupting an industry like Medical Devices, it's great to see that same mentality and approach applied to building our company and making VitaTek such a great place to work. 🙌

So why are you so busy at the moment Brett? To be honest, it's not beacuse of one factor. Rather the combination of a number of things coming together at the same time. 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒚, we've been on target with recruitment of new members over the last few months, and new members we tend to have more work to do in the early part of their membership, with more "consultancy" sessions that we'd expect later down the line... What are these sessions about - normally finding more business. 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒚, it's the time of year. Traditionally as we leave the school holidays small business owners start having a push towards that Christmas lead in, and when they look at their results for the year, they have to buck their ideas up. So again we tend to have more sessions. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒅𝒍𝒚, we've also have a number of projects behind closed doors coming into effect. Projects such as the new functions in the management areas, all take time, and little things like the implimention of calendar booking systems which we've avoided before. 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚, I took some time off. Sure I was ill, but I've also have a little break at the end of August to do the decoration - but these lost days add up. And sure I have my flexi Fridays, but that's partly due to workload for the rest of the week and not burning out. I was in the office at 6.30am this morning, and today (and the work I did at the weekend) not included, I'm already on 30+ hours - I do my stint lol. Would I change it - no, I love what I do, and YBW is progressing well, but most importantly we're developing into an organisation that really is making a difference to business owners. And that's rather cool

"You gotta use what you got to get what you want." This line isn’t just iconic—it’s a whole vibe for how we should approach our time off. You’ve got PTO, weekends, and holidays like Thanksgiving coming up, so ask yourself: Are you really going to rest? Or are you just swapping one kind of busy for another? Time off is your chance to recharge, reset, and reconnect with what matters. Don’t waste it. Sit down. Unplug. Use this time to take care of you. Let’s make our time off work for us. #BurnoutRelief #HookyWellness #TakeBetterBreaks #LeadershipDevelopment

The 5 Stages of Returning to the Office… 😅 1. Excitement: "Finally! I get to live the bachelor life away from home!" 2. Confusion: "Who keeps stealing my chair when I’m away even for 10 seconds?" 3. Shock: "Wait, I have to travel to the office now instead of rolling out of bed to my desk?" 4. Adjustment: "Actually talking to colleagues in person... and getting work done without a Zoom link? Weird, but atleast my work's getting done without a single 'Can you see my screen?' 😆" 5. Acceptance: "At least I can leave on time without doing late office hours, but... two hours in traffic... on the bright side, game break evenings make up for it!" 🎮 Back to the office—it’s a change, but we’re getting there!
