Gotta love a Monday with news like this! Welcome Power Plate UK & EU to the Leisure DB's partnership family. Power Plate UK & EU products grabbed my attention over 20 years ago and I'm still as much of a "cheerleader" now as I was back then. It's not surprising that the club portfolio I led had a common strand across them all, Power Plate! Back in 2008, one of our City clubs situated in the vibrant Southwark area made a significant addition to its timetable by incorporating 80 Power Plate Classes per week. These 30-minute, coach-led sessions, spanning from Power Yoga to Power Box, were conducted on 8 state-of-the-art Pro 5 Power Plates. This unique offering set us apart from competitors and remains a prominent talking point even today. I believe every operator should have at least one Power Plate in their club/studio, especially if ‘Active Aging’ is a huge topic of discussion as it’s great for balance, circulation, flexibility and building core strength. We look forward to the year ahead working in collaboration with Power Plate UK & EU to better the health & wellbeing of the Nation. Late in 2023, I was interviewed for a show on the BBC about the growth of indoor climbing. Hannah, the host asked me "What will be the next thing that will grow the industry?" I suspect she thought I would talk about tech, or climbing board only gyms, or private equity or something. I said one word: "Sales." And I hold to that. Our industry is very behind in this area.
