Tourists and tourism The definition of the United Nations, based on the proposal of the International Conference on Transportation in 1964, states: "A tourist is a person who goes to a country other than the country where resides and travels provided that the minimum period of his stay is not less than 24 hours and not more than six months" [6]. But perhaps the best definition of tourism is the definition of Mathiesen and Wall (1982): "Tourism is the contemporary movement of people to spend their free time in places outside their homes and stay, it is the activities they do during their stay and also the facilities that are created according to their needs" [11]. #travel #tourism #travelPlanner #tripplaner #environmentaltravel #canada
