Over the past 45 minutes, I made some significant improvements to my timer application project. Here's a quick rundown of what I achieved: 🎧 Fixed Audio Issues: Resolved the issue where the countdown audio continued playing when the reset button was clicked. Ensured the countdown audio pauses correctly when the timer is paused, enhancing the overall user experience. 💻 Enhanced CSS for Better Responsiveness: Switched to rem units for better responsiveness across devices. Adjusted the layout to ensure the start and reset buttons are centered on both mobile and desktop views. ✨ New Feature Added: Introduced a new state to display "Get Sweaty" after the preparation time and before the work time begins, providing clear visual cues to users. 🔧 JSX Code Enhancements: Updated the useEffect hook to incorporate the new "Get Sweaty" state and improve timer logic. Refined the transition logic between preparation, "Get Sweaty", work, rest, and the end of the workout. These updates have significantly improved the functionality and user experience of the application. Dear LinkedIn Community, It's been a while since when I worked on my previous hobby software project. But a couple of months ago, with the gardening season definitely over, I woke up one morning with two unexpected thoughts suddenly present in my head: - First, I imagined a multi-player online game which is about building a crossword, like #Scrabble, but fast, turnless and, importantly, allowing dynamic collaboration with another player if mutually agreed upon. - Second, I envisioned that if such a game became popular, it could be used as a vehicle to raise awareness of https://lnkd.in/eVQPBEX4, my favorite nonprofit in the world. (To emphasize that aspect, you score extra for playing words like Social, Justice, Progressive, Education, or Farm.) It was a lot of fun to learn how much web dev technologies evolved since the last time I worked with them around 2006. I ended up using Svelte and TypeScript and I loved it. Flexboxes, mobile first design, CSS3, HTML5 - so many cool things which were totally new to me! But now that the prototype is released, I need some help from you all. First, please try out the game with your friends and family and let me know if it is fun! Any honest feedback or suggestions are more than welcome (including non-constructive criticism). Second, can you please share it on your social media? If you finish a game, you get a personalized link which you can copy and paste in your posts. And third, for those of you who know things about marketing, and who want to support the cause, would you please have any advice on how to increase the chances of this game gaining popularity, so that it indeed can help Manhattan Country School?
