Rosie is this week's supporter star!⭐
This week's supporter star is Rosie, 8, who recently raised over £500 for Crisis by hosting a bake sale for her neighbours. She tells us more.
"I think it is sad that some people don’t have a home and I want to help. Mum said Crisis want to end homelessness too so I want to raise £2000 this year to help give people somewhere to live.
"I asked Mum if I could sell cakes on our driveway and we put leaflets through people’s doors to ask them to come. Some people couldn’t come but put money in envelopes through our door. Lots of people did come and really enjoyed the cakes.
"We raised £560 and still had cakes left for tea! I want to do a ‘Goalkeeperthon’ in the autumn and lots more sponsored stuff next year to hit my target of £2000."

Great article here from Thomas Hubert on how and why the procurement policy for #HousingFirst in Ireland requires change to better support the provision of services to help people experiencing - or at risk of - homelessness.
Beyond immediate shelter, more and more people need complex assistance to escape entrenched homelessness. Price competition between charities has pushed the sector to the brink, but procurement policy is now changing.

The Prime Legacy of Global Powerhouse | Dan Murphy's | Gregory Anderson—The Empowering Influence of Empathy and Kindness in Corporate Social Responsibility: Inspiring Global Change for the Homeless
In a world where profit margins are often prioritized over compassion, an individual has emerged as a beacon of hope for the homeless population through an universal commitment to kindness and empathy. Dan Murphy, a visionary leader in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR), has not only successfully raised funds to support the homeless but has also initiated a global movement of goodwill and social transformation.
The intersection of CSR, ethical leadership, and societal impact has never been more crucial than in today's increasingly interconnected world. Murphy's actions serve as a poignant reminder of the transformative power that businesses possess in shaping a more equitable and inclusive society. By extending a helping hand to those in need, he has not only alleviated the suffering of the homeless but has also sparked a ripple effect of generosity and compassion that transcends borders and cultures.
At the core of Dan Murphy's endeavors lies a deep-seated belief in the ethical foundation of CSR – a belief that businesses have a moral obligation to make positive contributions to society and uplift those who are marginalized and vulnerable. Through his strategic framework for ethical leadership, a new standard for corporate philanthropy has been established by Dan Murphy, one that prioritizes empathy, kindness, and authentic human connection above all else.
As we navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world, Dan Murphy's example serves as a guiding light for both businesses and individuals. His actions remind us that true leadership is not solely measured by profits but by the impact we have on the lives of others and the legacy of compassion we leave behind.
In an era characterized by uncertainty and division, let us draw inspiration from Dan Murphy's remarkable journey and commit ourselves to creating a world where kindness and empathy are paramount. Together, we can forge a future where every individual – regardless of their circumstances – is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Let’s unite and embark on a collective journey towards a more just, inclusive, and compassionate world – a world where the homeless are not forgotten but embraced with open hearts and outstretched hands.
Together, a difference can be made. Together, a brighter future for all can be created.
Join in the movement for change. Together, the world can be transformed, one act of kindness at a time.

Yesterday, I chatted with two extraordinary charities - Haig Housing and Combat Stress.
These charities are lifelines offering hope, housing, and mental health support for the veteran community and their families.
At Ubique Developments, we’re pledging 5% of all our profits to be split, supporting these two causes.
But it doesn’t stop there. We’re taking these corporate partnerships to the streets—using our site hoardings and other opportunities to raise awareness and rally support.
If you’d like to learn more about the life-changing work of Haig Housing and Combat Stress, you’ll find links to their websites in the comments below.

Better Decisions Counseling needs donations for its new transitional house. It does not have to be money. It can be furniture, especially bedroom and living room furniture, dishes, bathroom items, or whatever extra you have lying around your house. Even clothing or shoes. Bring the donations to the office of Better Decisions Counseling located at 10366 Rockingham Drive, Sacramento, CA 95827. You can also call (916)368-0700 if you know someone who needs help from Better Decisions Counseling with counseling.
The house will be a 12-bed transitional house for individuals or couples getting a second chance at life and a helping hand back into normal society. People who were once homeless addicts especially those who were justice-involved, could use your help as mentors.

For the sixth consecutive year I am fundraising for Hutt St Centre's Walk a Mile in my Boots campaign. August is one of my favourite times of year, not just because I get to wear my favourite colour every day of #NationalHomelessnessWeek, but also because I am able to use my skills in #socialmediacontentcreation and #storytelling to give back to my community. There is a lot to be said about the benefits of #volunteering and #fundraising, not just for how it impacts the people who rely on the cause you’re supporting, but also for personal wellbeing.
𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀:
1. 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: Connecting with my community online and in person, having conversations and meeting people with aligned values helps me feel like I belong to something bigger than myself.
2. 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Actively supporting a cause that is important to me reminds me that I have the power to shape the world I want to live in.
3. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Watching the total miles and donations gradually build over the week helps to sustain gratification and motivate progress towards my goals.
4. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲: Supporting my community brings so much meaning into my life and allows me to live in line with my values.
Participating in Walk a Mile in my Boots also fosters my wellbeing by encouraging me to move my body, spend more time in nature and practice gratitude and reflection. When I'm giving back I feel more motivated, hopeful and generally have an elevated mood. 🧡
Hutt St Centre provides essential services for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in South Australia. If we’ve learned anything the past few years, it’s that our circumstances can change in the blink of an eye, and we rely on the communities around us for support through hard times.
This week I am walking a mile every day, and adding a mile to this target for every $100 I raise. If you would like to support my fundraiser you can donate to my page here: https://lnkd.in/g8sHMkHf#walkamile#psychologicalneeds
It is random act of kindness day today, acts of kindness should be done everyday but having a day can be used for supporting good causes and making genuine differences in peoples existence.
Jaclyn Ristic is raising money to support the homeless in Lincoln. Shelter has found that those who sleep rough every night has risen by 26% in the last year and with more financial uncertainty and the cost of living crisis this is expected to continue to rise.
Many people released from prison are released homeless as there is not housing or any form of accommodation available in many areas. It really is a postcode lottery to whether you will be released onto the streets or into some form of shelter.
Please be kind to those on the streets, everyone has a story. And if you can spare some money to support those who are homeless and ensure that the money will be spent fully on support and positively follow the link below.

This past year I have proudly dedicated my time as a Board member and Volunteer to Humble Design Chicago. They provide design services, donated furniture, bedding, kitchen items, curtains and everything else that goes into turning a house into a home for families that have successfully fought their way out of homelessness at no cost. Our work takes away the stress from our clients so that they can successfully focus on their families and their jobs, while being proud of what they have accomplished. This year we have seen an uptick in the amount of mothers, children and veterans seeking a fresh start. Our organization needs more support than ever to meet the increasing demand. We are seeking humble monetary donations from our Humble friends to help. It’s an investment that changes lives and our communities, as less than 6% of Humble Design clients return to homelessness after one year, compared with the national statistic of 50%.Just as we help our family and friends when they get their first place and have significant life changes, I would like to raise enough to help at least one family make this transition. Each deco day moves children off the floor and puts them into warm beds, give their parents peace of mind and hope, and allow families to gather and plan their futures around a kitchen table. Can I please get your help towards my goal by making a donation? What you give today helps Humble do a one-day home transformation that would typically take a Humble client more than 18 years to save enough money to do on their own. Every humble donation through the link below will add up to make this happen!

Less than four days to go!
It’s the last week of February and that means it’s the last week of our 164 Mile Challenge.
Make sure you upload your miles to the leaderboard by midnight on Thursday and please get your sponsorship money in as soon as possible. So far, we've raised just under £9,000 but we know there's more to come. Don't forget, every penny raised is vital to help us support local families with sick children.
