🔔 Biotechs 🔙 🔛 🔝 in the latest updates from last week! ▪ RayzeBio and Neumora Therapeutics recently completed successful biotech IPOs. ▪ RayzeBio raised $311 million, surpassing expectations, with 16.1 million shares sold at $18 each. ▪ RayzeBio's lead program RYZ101 for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors will benefit from the extra funds. ▪ Neumora Therapeutics raised $250 million, meeting its target, with 14.7 million shares sold at $17 each. ▪ Neumora has a diverse pipeline of nine investigational programs, including phase 3 med navacaprant for major depressive disorder. ▪ Both companies joined Nasdaq, indicating investor appetite for promising biotech companies despite market challenges.

Exciting start to JPM 2024 conference. Three Acquisitions announced in a day. 1.Merck acquiring Harpoon Therapeutics for ~ $ 700 mn for its oncology assets 2. JNJ acquiring Ambrx Biophrma for $2 bn for the next generation ADCs 3. Boston scientific acquiring Axonics for $ 3.7 bn for devices that treat urinary and bowel dysfunction After a dull year, the M&A activity is picking up. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻'𝘀-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 Serina Therapeutics, Inc. 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 AgeX Therapeutics, Inc. 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 For a few years, it seemed that AgeX Therapeutics was locked in limbo—forever warning that its cash was about to run out while its preclinical pipeline stalled. Now, Serina Therapeutics has finally decided to act on the opportunity to leverage AgeX’s public listing as it pushes ahead with its lead Parkinson’s disease therapy. Under the merger, which is expected to close in the first quarter of next year, AgeX’s stockholders are set to own around one-quarter of the combined entity, with Serina’s stockholders accounting for the remaining 75%. The company will keep the Serina name and trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "SER." “The AgeX team thoroughly reviewed and evaluated numerous strategic alternatives for creating stockholder value, and we believe this transaction with Serina presented the most compelling option for our stockholders,” Agex interim CEO Joanne M. Announcing... A Name Change! "MAPS PBC announced the company is #rebranding and changing its name to Lykos Therapeutics (“Lykos”), effective immediately. With Breakthrough Therapy designation given to #mdma in 2017, Lykos has requested the #fda grant Priority Review of the NDA. The FDA has 60 days to determine whether the NDA will be accepted for review and whether it will be a priority or standard review (six months or ten months, respectively). Our portfolio company, Memo Therapeutics AG announced today it has successfully raised CHF 20 million as part of an extension of its Series C financing, bringing the total amount raised in the funding round to CHF 45 million. New investors Ysios Capital and Kurma Partners participated in the extension round, joining existing Series C round investors including Verve Ventures, Pureos Bioventures, Swisscanto, Vesalius Biocapital, Adjuvant Capital, Schroders Capital, GF Group, Fresenius Medical Care Ventures and redalpine. The new funding will be used to bolster the clinical advancement of MTx’s lead asset, AntiBKV, expanding the Phase II trial with a dose evaluation extension to be the largest BK viremia therapeutic study ever conducted in kidney transplant recipients. Initial data from the Phase II trial is expected in the first half of 2025. The funding will further support the development of MTx’s pipeline by leveraging its B-cell screening platform to select best-in-class humanized antibodies in other viral infections and oncology.
