As we get ready for the start of school next week, we are so grateful to the seven CRJ parents who attended our panel discussion this afternoon. They shared the importance of the faith aspect of the school is, the impact that the Corporate Work Study Program has made on their children's future, and gratitude for the high level of academics that CRJ students are held to. We are proud to walk with our parents on this journey, and we thank them for their partnership, trust, and commitment.

Great to see a couple of the many amazing IUSD programs "spotlighted" in KTLA's School Spirit Spotlight segment. These programs demonstrate the powerful impact academic programs can have when you integrate academic disciplines, as in the case of Career Technical Education (CTE) and the Arts. #ctemonth #cte #WHS

As the public school year launches, we at LHCC are encouraged by the progress made this year. While many of our students are behind on literacy and reading, the progress has been outstanding. My latest blogpost highlights the need for volunteers with patience and the skill of developing of daily habits among our students in tutoring and mentoring perseverance, measurable outcomes and graduation success. https://lnkd.in/eD_DbdDu

I had the privilege of sharing the importance of breadth as embodied in the College of the Ozarks general education curriculum which prepares students to tackle a wide range of tasks at work and in life. Breadth is important for engineering graduates, half of whom are not in explicit engineering roles, as well as any graduate who wants to be prepared for the wonderfully diverse world we live in. https://lnkd.in/gWBcYERe
I am passionate about equipping and resourcing Christian colleges and universities and their faculty to faithfully educate students.
It was a pleasure to moderate a discussion at the Faithful Education Convocation last night about how the General Education Program here at College of the Ozarks helps prepare students to thrive in their God-given #vocations and #callings. Thanks to Stacy McNeill, Ed.D., Mark Nowack, and Joseph Western for sharing your insights as part of our faculty panel. Thanks also to Janna Goodwin for all your help organizing things behind the scenes. Finally, thanks to all the faculty here at the College who invest your time, energy, and passion into teaching General Education courses!

What we learned: 1. Don't let #insecurities make you change course. Other people might be doing things a little differently, but that doesn't necessarily mean your plan is wrong. 2. Take a breath and set your #intention. When you focus on the experience you want to create, you will likely create it, even if your words are imperfect. 3. Keep your head in the game. If you make a mistake, focus on and take the best next action to get the #results you want. #Resilience #Persistence #Winning #PublicSpeaking

Thank you, Norfolk State University, Saranette Williams, and Lawrence Epplein, for hosting me at yesterday's #Etiquette Luncheon. It was wonderful meeting the students. I learned far more from everyone than I shared when I spoke!
