Thank you Cameron Littlejohn for inviting me to be part of your classroom's Black History Month celebration. It could be easy to experience this beautiful montage as simply an inspirational Black History moment. It is so much more than this to me. I offer these two things for consideration. 1. The "Eye is The Limit" for elementary students . Young Black Scholars only believe they can be what they see Black adults being. All students benefit from seeing diverse leaders inspiring them to claim all of America's history as their own. Mr. Littlejohn's students can now imagine being: -College Presidents -School Superintendents -Black Academics - Philanthropic Leaders -President/CEOs 2. Efforts to erase Black History in schools require us to embed this history in the hearts and minds of young students. Mr. Littlejohn's video montage will exist in perpetuity in the hearts and minds of his students. Books can be removed from schools but the impact of this educational moment will never be forgotten. Share this video with children in your lives. Raise them to know, believe, and claim Black History as their own. We are... Our ancestors wildest dreams. We are Black Excellence We are Black History!

✨Lambeth’s 27yo Mayor inspired me ✨ This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to meet the mayor of Lambeth, who was confidently rocking a hefty gold chain and would you believe he’s only 27 years old! It was a powerful reminder of the potential we all have to make a significant impact to our communities, regardless of our age. Meeting someone so young, yet so accomplished, really got me thinking about life goals and the paths we choose. At 27, many of us are probably still figuring out our career paths, personal goals, and ways to make a difference. Seeing the mayor's dedication and achievements, his aspirations as well as his personal fears and challenges, inspired me to reflect on where I was at that age, where we could all be at that age – or any age – with the right mix of passion, perseverance, and a bit of boldness. Whether you're just starting out in your career or you're a few years in, remember that age is just a number. Your dreams and goals are valid, and with hard work and determination, you can achieve more than you might think possible. I want to use his motivation. Let’s push ourselves to aim higher, and to support each other in our journeys! As you go about your careers which is constantly busy and you create a retirement plan, how about a Financial Plan which incorporates a fulfilling life before and throughout retirement so you don’t have a regret like this. Very touching video.

When my grandma Vicki was struck down and murdered by a 14 year old high school dropout, my world detonated. The very laws of physics came into question. Up was down. Down was up. The center of gravity no longer existed. I was faced with two existential questions: 1. Is it possible after an incident of unimaginable depravity to forgive someone who doesn’t express any remorse? 2. Will it be possible to experience joy again, knowing that time doesn’t actually heal all wounds and you will face certain tragedies (violence, suicide, death of a child, etc) that never leave you? I have lived my life pursuing in thoughts and deeds answers to these burning questions. Every ounce of labor I expend honoring Vicki’s incredible legacy brings a tenfold measure of healing. Part of what I’ve learned is expressed by this physician talking about not working so hard to justify our existence. Rather, it’s about living an examined life with playfulness, and joy in the company of friends, family and loved ones— empathetic and kind to all, no matter what they’ve done. We cannot seek harm for those who harm us or we will never know joy again. We won’t be unburdened by retribution. The obverse is true. We must practice kindness especially to those who don’t deserve it. We will live unburdened and joyful when we seek no harm under any circumstance, and offer love to all those who cross our pass.
