We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Standing Voice – an international non-governmental organisation defending the rights of people with albinism in Africa. 🌍 Without the protective pigment melanin, people with albinism are highly vulnerable to skin cancer – one estimate suggests fewer than 10% of people with this genetic condition in Tanzania survive skin cancer to reach the age of 30. This makes having access to dermatology services vital, which is why we are delighted to be supporting Standing Voice’s skin cancer prevention programme with a grant of £398,187. Over the course of three years, this funding will enable the organisation to deliver 978 dermatology clinics in Tanzania, giving 9,100 people with albinism direct access to much-needed services. We are proud to be helping to reduce mortality from skin cancer among people with albinism through this established programme, which has become a blueprint for the future! #CrodaFoundation #Improvinglives #Albinism #Skincancerprevention Photo credit: Harry Freeland / Standing Voice
