When it comes to chipping most people try to go under the ball to get it up in the air. The problem with this is they will get breakdown through impact and lose good contact on the golf ball . What a golfer wanting to chip well should be doing is hitting down on the ball contacting the ball first and ground second with a downward strike. So if you are struggling with solid impact and getting the ball close to the pin next time you need to learn to hit the ball on the downswing with the hands leading through impact. In the coming week we will be putting our attention on helping you to chip well. ⛳️ DRILL OF THE WEEK ⛳️ - The Pause Drill Do you come “Over the top” on the downswing or do you have a hard time dissociating when the backswing finishes & the downswing starts? 🤔 The Pause Drill is for you.👇🏻 The drill concept is to take the club to the top of your back swing & once you have reached the top of your swing pause the club for a brief moment to then give you space & time to be more AWARE of how you want to start your downswing relative to your intended shot shape. This drill is great for the golfer who has an issue with coming “Over the top” on the downswing or the golfer who has no timing & sequence in the downswing losing promoting club path, club face & strike issues.
