In the first six months of 2024-25, nearly 800k patients waited 12 hours or more in A&E ⏳🏥 That's 25% more than long waits in the same period last year 📈 A&E experienced their busiest ever September with 2.21 million attendances and 531k emergency admissions 🚨 And in case you wondered where things are at their worst, these five Trusts are where you're most likely to be waiting more than 12 hours: 🏥 Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust 🏥 Countess of Chester Hospital Foundation Trust 🏥 Wirral University Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust 🏥 Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Foundation Trust 🏥 Warrington and Halton Foundation Trust Patient flow has a lot to answer for here, and there are bottlenecks that cause beds to be occupied unnecessarily 🛏️💼 But workforce issues are the biggest problem and one that can be fixed with action now ✅ It's been a year of rejected vacancies, hiring freezes and IMG doctors / locums / even some UK doctors struggling to find jobs 🩺 Now is the time for the NHS to invest in permanent recruitment, engage the medical workforce and get hiring 📢 With historically long times to hire, the alternative will be a painful winter ❄️ and a return to huge locum spend 💷

With over 23 years as a clinician across varying states, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible pressure on healthcare teams—especially now. Finding the 𝓇𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 healthcare professionals is more than just filling a role; it’s about connecting you with skilled candidates who are equipped for the demands of a clinical environment and align with your organisation’s mission of patient-centred care 💙. 🌟 1. Matching Talent to Specialty Needs Not all healthcare roles are alike. Filling a critical care medical or nursing position differs from sourcing a Remote Area Nurse, aged care specialist, or allied health provider. A specialised targeted approach ensures that only the most suitable candidates—clinically competent and ready for your unique environment—join your team, helping reduce turnover and increase team stability. 🔍 2. Compliance & Credentialing, Simplified From APHRA registration to essential certifications, compliance is non-negotiable in healthcare. With my background in clinical leadership, I ensure that all candidates are pre-screened for the proper credentials for our Australian healthcare landscape to ensure they’re prepared to contribute to your team from day one. 🏥 3. Building Reliable Teams in High-Need Areas Staffing shortages are critical in rural, remote, mental health, FIFO, and aged care settings. My approach focuses on identifying professionals dedicated to serving in these challenging environments and committed to making a real difference where needed most. 💪 4. Turning Staffing into a Strategic Advantage With deep healthcare insights and a recruitment process rooted in clinical experience, my goal is to help hospitals and healthcare facilities build resilient, capable teams that deliver exceptional patient care, even under pressure. 🌐 Are you seeking a new recruitment partner who truly understands the demands of healthcare staffing? Healthcare Recruitment Crisis: Numbers Don't Lie! 🆘 The healthcare industry is on the brink, facing a severe staffing crisis according to a recent BMJ article. This isn't just about a few understaffed hospitals - this is a nationwide problem with critical consequences. Here's a glimpse into the gravity of the situation: -Unfilled vacancies: The NHS alone has over 125,500 vacancies in hospital and community health services in England. This means longer wait times, overworked professionals, and ultimately, compromised patient care. There is also a vacancy rate of nearly 11,000 doctors (a 7.2% vacancy rate). Imagine the impact this has on appointment availability and wait times! - Burnout and dissatisfaction: Staff are burnt out and dissatisfied due to demanding workloads and understaffing. This leads to a vicious cycle - staff leave, workload increases for those who remain, leading to more burnout and departures. - Impact on patient care: Staff shortages directly translate to delays in treatment, overworked professionals making critical errors, and an overall decline in the quality of care patients receive. In 2022, two private practices in different states reached out to us at AlphaHire with a common problem: they needed to hire skilled Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to meet growing demand. However, both practices were in highly competitive healthcare markets, making it challenging to attract top talent. They needed NPs who were not only qualified but also a great cultural fit for their teams and committed to staying long-term. Here’s how we tackled this challenge. First, we spent time understanding the unique needs of each practice. This wasn’t just about filling roles—we worked closely with leadership to understand their practice values, team dynamics, and long-term goals. We knew we had to find Nurse Practitioners who would thrive in their environments, align with their mission, and deliver outstanding patient care. Next, we put our proactive sourcing strategies to work. We leveraged our vast network of healthcare professionals, engaged on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Reddit, and used referral programs to connect with top-tier NPs who were ready for a new opportunity. Our approach wasn’t just about volume—it was about finding the right candidates who fit both the role and the practice. But recruitment is only half the battle. We also managed expectations and kept communication transparent throughout the process. We provided regular updates, clear candidate profiles, and offered market insights that helped the practices make informed decisions. By setting realistic timelines and focusing on quality over speed, we ensured the practices felt confident at every step. The result? In less than four months, both practices were fully staffed with highly skilled Nurse Practitioners who were the perfect fit for their teams. Patient satisfaction scores improved, turnover concerns were reduced, and the practices are now set up for long-term success. At AlphaHire, we’re not just about placing candidates—we’re about providing lasting value by matching the right talent with the right opportunities. If you’re facing similar challenges in finding and retaining healthcare professionals, we’re here to help! #HealthcareRecruitment #NursePractitioners #AlphaHire #TalentAcquisition #HealthcareLeadership #RetentionStrategies #PrivatePractice #TeamBuilding
