expect change in Indian Judiciary soon
Was yesterday the darkest day for democracy in India, as it is being alleged. The answer is yes and no both. Let's explore. Yesterday I had the most amazing personal #AkshayaTritya experience but equally it was one of the darkest days of our nation. The darkest day continues to be 25th June 1975 when the then Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi declared emergency which lasted 21 months. Yesterday May 10, 2024 in my view will go down as the second darkest day when the Supreme Court of India meddled with the free and fair election process by taking suo moto action and giving bail to a political leader. A democracy needs an accountable and fair judicial system that is also transparent. Indian democracy faces a huge threat from the lack of transparency and accountability in our judicial system. Perhaps one of the only democracies where judges select within themselves. Listen in to what Sai Deepak J has to say. #judicialreforms
