‼️ Technicians and service advisors must start working as a team! 🤔 Let’s break down that wall between the service lane and the shop. General maintenance appointments typically entail an oil change, tire rotation, and complimentary MPI. If you complete all three, that’s good. If you complete them in the most advantageous order, that’s better. 🤔 So what’s the order? Well there are a lot of methods and theories, but I like to keep it simple. For the technician, get the MPI done and to the advisor as early as possible. This allows the advisor to work with the customer to potentially authorize the needed additional recommendations while the technician completes the pre sold work like that oil change and tire rotation. Once the technician is wrapping up the maintenance already on the repair order, the advisor in most cases will have the answers back from the customer. If additional work is authorized, the technician can flow straight into it.
