#RecoveryMonth is a time to increase awareness and understanding of #substanceuse disorders and celebrate those who have found the strength to overcome them. It's a time to remember that recovery is not only possible, but attainable for those who seek it. In line with this mission, The Partnership @drugfreeNH has created "Better Now: Life Without Substance Use," a short film that conveys hope and resilience. It's an opportunity to see through the eyes of five remarkable individuals from #NewHampshire who have embarked on a long-term journey of #recovery from substance misuse. https://lnkd.in/erRv9Cx5 #NationalRecoveryMonth #HopeIsReal #RecoveryIsReal

This event is scheduled to take place on March 16, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Training Academy located at 993 Dovecrest Road. Even when people, groups, and communities mean well, they sometimes end up unknowingly keeping the cycles of violence going. This can have negative effects on their physical health, relationships, jobs, and the well-being of their entire community. That's where STAR training comes in. It's like a crash course in understanding trauma and how it affects people. Taking part in STAR training can help individuals, communities, and organizations do better in their work and live healthier lives. You can sign up for notifications about our future STAR trainings here: https://lnkd.in/gNUhniiV #Peacebuilding #STAR #Minneapolis #StPaul #TwinCities #RestorativeJustice #TraumaAwareness

If you don't know about CCBHCs and the importance of this model to the future of agencies like Compass Health, take a moment to to follow and look at the materials provided by Fourfront Contributor in their advocacy work around this systems change. Adopting this model is critical to ensure we have the financial sustainability to serve those most in need in our region!
As a member of Fourfront Contributor, we’re advocating for statewide adoption of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model in Washington state – a nationally proven, evidence-based approach that will help ensure the sustainability of high-quality community behavioral health. Did you know that today there are more than 500 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics and CCBHC grantees operating in 46 states, plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico! Check out the full map of states that have adopted the CCBHC model, and the outcomes they’re reporting, here: https://bit.ly/3y1BfwU

Over 400 million children are affected by war, causing intergenerational trauma. This year, I'm excited to learn more and lean in to launch efforts at GDI to support children in crisis and war as part of a broader portfolio of bringing evidence-based interventions to scale that improve peoples' lives. In her article for the Boston Globe, Dr. Theresa Betancourt shares the enormity of this public health crisis: https://lnkd.in/gTRkZgt5

A very useful guide on the trauma-informed approach and how to apply it. More and more local authorities in the UK are adopting this approach to better understand those who have experienced traumatic life events. Being trauma-informed means understanding that those in most need of services may also be the hardest to reach and least likely to engage effectively with services. https://lnkd.in/efUQpSc2..
