Every design, project, and new idea begins with a blank canvas. Sure, that can feel a bit overwhelming, but the magic happens when you take that first step—no matter how small. Along the way, I’ve learned so much. Every challenge, milestone, and client has shaped me in unexpected ways. I’m grateful for the chance to create, collaborate, and grow. It all started with a simple decision to take that first step, even when it felt uncertain. Meet the Team! 👥 Say hello to Benji Wallace, our incredible graphic designer👨🎤 🎨What sparked your interest in becoming a graphic designer?  Always had a creative streak, but I think it went into overdrive when I discovered a totally legitimate version of Photoshop  and started playing about. It's grown from there, until I ended up chasing it all the way to uni level. From there, it had me—it wasn’t letting me go—and I’ve never really looked back. 🚀 💼What is your favourite part about working with UpDesigners? I’m a bit of a veteran as to how we set up and operate, but one thing that stays fresh is the culture we have here.  It’s arguably hard to promote an ‘office culture’ thing being 99% remote 💻, but we’re constantly getting a multitude of faces to add to the Up roster, so there’s never really a dull moment. It’s totally integrated into the heart of what we do here, everyone’s on the same wavelength. 🤝 💡Can you share a tip that you think every designer should know?  If I could say one thing that applies across the board, no matter what avenue your career takes: Enjoy the Process. Being curious and having that sense of fearlessness to tinker, play about, push boundaries, and sometimes mess it up is paramount to growing your skillset and progressing yourself as a creative. 🔧🎨 🎧What do you enjoy doing outside of work to stay creative and inspired?  I love my music, I’m listening to stuff almost constantly. 🎶 I’ll get to gigs as often as possible and recently developed a vinyl obsession, which is great for creative inspo looking at the record sleeves.  I dabble in some MTB 🚴♂️ when the outdoor mood takes me, and I’m a big fan of watching film and TV. 🎥📺 I also really like buying shoes. 👟👟 #graphicdesign #designinspiration #teamspotlight #creativegenius #graphicdesigner #creativeminds #designmagic #visualartist #designlife  #creativeprocess #meettheteam

Posting my journey as a graphic designer, Day6 Departmental week was approaching, so I decided to start creating fictional designs for my department and some other departments in school so basically after designing I'd send the samples to the presidents of each department sending cold dms basically, after all the departments I reach out to only one said yes lol even my own department (Optometry) said no(actually they hired someone already) so as a creative never be afraid of rejection, it's actually part of the process put yourself out there, or else no one will see you and if no one sees you and your work, my brodah you no go see money lol and that's basically it. keep growing, keep putting yourself out there, take the risk (risk = reward) #Graphicdesign #Graphicdesigner #Growth #Edesign
