PROJECT • FEATURE Stone Type: Travertine and Granite Surface: Floor Referred By: Classico Marble Limited As part of a renovation of the world renowned Petrus by Gordon Ramsay, the restaurant management were looking to restore the stone throughout. The process required multiple stages and as a complex project we carried out a sample initially in order to determine the perfect method to achieve the desired result. It is important that each stone surface is treated with a tailored system of diamond abrasives and the correct products. After an initial deep cleaning process the pits in the travertine areas were filled by hand. Following this, a mixture of copper bonded diamonds, hybrid discs and diamond impregnated pads were used along to resurface and restore the stone. #naturalstone #restoration #renovationproject

Great question! While granite countertops are incredibly durable, placing super hot items directly on them can pose some risks. Here's why: ◾ Heat Absorption: Granite absorbs heat from pots and pans. Unlike a stovetop, it won't visibly change color, making it difficult to gauge how hot the surface is. ◾ Potential for Burns: Since there's no visual cue, you could accidentally touch a hot spot and get burned. ◾ Staining Risks: Even though granite is non-porous, extreme heat from cookware can cause slight staining, especially from greasy residue. To protect your beautiful countertops, consider using trivets or hot pads to shield them from direct heat exposure. Got more questions about caring for your countertops?
