🏟️ Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season Sponsors UFC 306 at Sphere 🌍
UFC has sold its first-ever event title sponsorship to an offshoot of the Saudi Arabian government, marking the latest Middle Eastern investment in combat sports. Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season, a state-managed entertainment festival, will sponsor UFC 306, scheduled for Sept. 14 at Sphere in Las Vegas. Riyadh Season Noche UFC, as the event will be called, is set to be the first sporting event at the venue.
🤝 This sponsorship continues the relationship between TKO, the parent company of UFC and WWE, and Saudi Arabia. UFC recently held its first event in the country and plans to return next year. WWE already has a lucrative 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia, hosting two events annually, which generates over $100 million each year.
💸 Financial details of the UFC 306 deal have not been disclosed. However, the event is being marketed as a celebration for Mexican fans, coinciding with Mexico’s Independence Day and featuring prominent Mexican fighters. UFC President Dana White described the event as a “love letter to the Mexican people,” highlighting the $16 million investment to stage it.
🌟 The sponsorship exemplifies the Middle East's growing influence in combat sports, with significant investments in martial arts and boxing. UFC's ties to the region include Fight Island events in Abu Dhabi during the COVID-19 pandemic and an upcoming UFC Fight Night there.
