The global data center market is booming, driven by the increasing demand for data processing and storage, particularly for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Data centers are expected to grow significantly, with global market revenue projected to reach $450 billion by 2027. This growth is fueled by the rise of AI, which demands more computational power and higher load capacities for data center racks Crown has been playing a key role in this rapid expansion, particularly in Santa Clara, California. In collaboration with Silicon Valley Power, we’ve delivered advanced control enclosures for both the utility and data center sides of several significant projects. How can digital infrastructure keep up with the pace of demand in 2024? The average capacity of hyperscale data centers to be opened over the next six years will soon be more than double that of current operational hyperscale data centers. This represents a huge demand on an already strained grid. The boom in AI, as well as public consumption of data, represents both an immense challenge and opportunity for the sector. Tom Kingham, Director, Engineering Solutions, will participate in a panel discussion with DatacenterDynamics on January 25 at 8am CST / 2pm GMT to discuss: 📈 How exponential demand for data is shaping the industry’s landscape, and practical strategies for how data centers can meet this ⚡ Whether tier 2 markets overtake tier 1 as they become increasingly strained by land and power, and the potential of retrofitting for AI workloads 🏗️ The most innovative construction methods to ensure large-scale and effective expansion 🔗 How to balance speed-to-market with resiliency in a challenging workforce and supply chain environment Tune in here: https://lnkd.in/erHuj7NT #datacenterconstruction #digitalinfrastructure #DCDBroadcast

Data centers are on the rise and so is their power consumption. According to recent projections, they are expected to jump from 2% of all U.S. electricity now to a whopping 7.5% by 2030. But here's the kicker: in the top five data center hotspots, we've only got 4 GW of power capacity up until 2027. We might need as much as 50 GW real soon. And brace yourself, new data centers are gonna be massive. We might start seeing ones with like 1 or 2 GW capacity, or even bigger. With this demand for data centers and power capacity, it's clear that we need to adapt and find sustainable solutions. What do you think? How can we meet this increasing demand for data center power while minimizing our impact on the environment? Share your thoughts in the comments. #datacenters #sustainability #energyconsumption #technology
