I, for one, am excited about seeing the last few years of theory, training, and numerous webinars put into practice in a month's time. There are no doubt going to be some hiccups, some slips of correct terminology - I might set up a "swear box" for the number of many times I continue to say "contract notice" instead of the new "tender notice" - but it's a great opportunity to reset old habits, to think more creatively about how to achieve most advantageous tender (at least we no longer have to talk about MEAT all the time!), and to test out what is meant by "acting with integrity", because someone is bound to challenge on that ground alone! The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched an AI tool to address bid-rigging in public procurement. By analyzing bidding data, this tool aims to detect and prevent collusion, promoting fair competition and protecting public funds. This initiative is part of the broader changes introduced by the Procurement Act 2023, which will take effect on February 24, 2025. The Act will bring significant updates to public procurement processes.
