After Parties and Late Nights are a great event format that can really elevate a venue and connect with different audiences. Howie Schnee shares a ton of insights in this 15-minute interview all about After Parties. Some takeaways: 🥳 Target audiences that like to stay out late (probably not great for family events, but a great new use for a traditionally family-focused spaced. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium does a great job of this with their Late Nights at the Zoo). 🥳 Make it unique. Events are competitive. You can give yourself an edge by doing something unique. Art for Art sake - money for God’s sake I, in a past life, was a music festival caterer selling wood- fired pizza - in deed my daughter Caitlin still owns and run a much smaller version of that business At one of these festivals I was privileged to meet 10CC who told me their parents, when they were just starting out in the music business were most upset about their choice of profession quoting the above phrase Fortunately they were not put off by this “sensible” advice and of course the above phrase became the title of one of their many hits. 10CC found a way of making money from their art Repurposing and converting old, redundant buildings is a mix of both art and the making of money. If you can do that, mix your passion with your business - well it’s just a lot more enjoyable experience and I think retaining Society’s street scape and history adds to everybody’s pleasure and as you have to work with the building, results in unique dwellings and holiday spaces which is a breath of fresh air in a modern standardised world Of course that is me, others are only interested in square footage , but I do think “ beauty, volume and history” has a value of its own and fortunately I am not alone in so thinking #propertydevelopment #selfcateringholiday #shorttermlet #housingemergency #propertyinvestment #citybreak

There is SO MUCH to do at The NAMM Show. Often there are meetings and opportunities that can be moved or scheduled at a variety of time; you can’t change the time/day of a scheduled NAMM session though! Start with choosing the educational and networking events that are most valuable to you, then plan your other activities around that.“

The festival season is upon us! While it might not feel like summer is approaching in the UK it certainly is. However, are you ready for it? Music, cultural, food, beverage....no matter the type of festival it is, requires months of hard work behind the scenes and hundreds of people and suppliers to make the event that you see before you. Events are hard work but outdoor events are even more so because of the unpredictability of mother nature. Every scenerio, every bad outcome must be countered with a worse case scenerio plan.
