Yeah, no. That’s like justifying a bad hire by saying they’ll only be here (x) many of years to screw things up. 1. The Executive Branch needs to nominate qualified candidates, 2. The Legislative Branch (Senate) needs to perform due diligence, and 3. The Legislative Branch (House) needs to impeach a questionable justice. Limiting term limits doesn’t address the problem of prejudice or corrupt persons attaining and holding the position of Supreme Court Justice. An unqualified candidate doesn’t magically appoint and approve themselves - it takes mismanagement from all branches of the government. Shortcuts don’t solve problems. So why hire unfit candidates, even for a limited time? #criticalthinking #ageism #analysis #leadership #Supremecourt #Senate #HouseofRepresentatives #decisionmaking #impeachment #procedures #Constitution #employee #mismanagement #hr #hiring #humanresources
The Supreme Court is broken. It’s time for term limits. Staggered 18-year terms would ensure that no justice has too much power for too long.
