I just heard some exciting news and had to share it with you! You know how Blinkit delivers groceries, right? Well, after Swiggy's launch of "bolt," Blinkit is now planning to deliver quick snacks too! Imagine getting hot samosas and chai delivered to your home in just 10 minutes. Sounds pretty cool, doesn't it? So, what’s going on? Blinkit is stepping into the quick bites game, starting with crowd-favorites like samosas and sandwiches. And if it’s a hit, they’re planning to expand the menu to include heartier options like pasta and noodles. It's like having your favorite street food stall at your fingertips, minus the wait. What’s interesting is how fast this industry is evolving. Competitors like Zepto Cafe and Swiggy’s Bolt are already in the game, racing to meet similar customer demands. Zepto, which launched its quick snack service in 2021, started delivering items like chai, coffee, and croissants in under 10 minutes. Swiggy’s Bolt, which recently launched, delivers food from popular restaurants like KFC, Starbucks, and Chaayos, all within a short 2 km radius. This competition isn’t just about speed; it’s about offering variety and becoming the go-to option for those looking for a quick bite without stepping out of the house. As the quick commerce industry continues to grow, we’re seeing a significant shift in how we engage with food and everyday essentials. This got me thinking—could this change how we enjoy food? Are we trading the joy of a cafe visit for the convenience of instant delivery? Will we miss the aroma of a busy kitchen or the buzz of a crowded restaurant? What do you think about getting snacks delivered so fast? Do you like the idea, or do you prefer going out to eat? Let me know in the comments!

This is how Zomato looks at 10 minute food delivery. "We launched Bistro targeting the large in-office market wanting quick access to snacks, meals, and beverages within 10-15 mins. This market is currently addressed by on-site vendors/ vending machines and is not catered to evenly across geographies by the existing food delivery options." These are statements from their quarterly report. And honestly, this should be the only use case of 10-minute food delivery. This, and nothing else. For everything else, there is freshly prepared food. Swish Swiggy Snacc Zepto Cafe.

Wendy's tests demand based surge pricing, similar to Uber I believe this is a risky move when fast food is already struggling with high costs. For years, fast food was popular because it was cheap and quick. Nowadays, with a Big Mac meal priced almost the same as a healthier Chipotle bowl, the big question is: where will you choose to grab your next meal? Feel free to share your thoughts. #SurgePricing #FastFoodNews #FoodIndustryTrends #EatingHealthyVsFastFoo #ConsumerChoices #FastFoodCosts #DigitalMenuInnovation #PriceFluctuations #AffordableEats #FastFoodChallenges

Highlighting a feature story I wrote recently for CNBC: Food delivery fees are rising, and everyone's feeling the pinch Food from the restaurant of your choosing, delivered right to your door — at what cost? Third-party food delivery is becoming the norm for American consumers, as delivery apps like Grubhub, DoorDash and Uber Eats take hold in day-to-day dining. It’s also presenting customers and restaurants with an increasingly complicated equation of service fees, delivery costs and worker tips. Frustrations from both sides of the table have fallen on the services, which have worked to protect (or achieve) profits and prop up orders while cash-strapped Americans scrutinize the checkout screen — and order totals that often add up to more than expected. 🚨Is Delivering Faster Really the Future of Food Delivery? 🚨 Here’s a question for you - what matters more to you: the speed of delivery or the soul of the meal? 🤔 In a world dominated by convenience, the food delivery industry has transformed how we eat. Zomato, Swiggy and now Zepto have set benchmarks for speed with zepto cafe. But here’s the question: Is restaurant food the only option? At Hungry Moments, we’re all about offering something real - home-cooked meals, prepared by homemakers who put their heart into every dish. And now, we’re planning to introduce HM Quick, giving you the option to enjoy your favorite home-cooked meals delivered in 20-30 minutes. The question is: Will you settle for just speed, or will you choose a soulful experience? With the rise of ultra-fast delivery models we’re curious about your perspective. Do you think there’s room for a hybrid model that balances speed with authenticity? Would love to hear insights from leaders like Rashmi Daga (Founder | FreshMenu) Aadit Palicha (Co-Founder | Zepto) Arjun Vaidya (Co-founder | V3 Ventures) We’d Love to Hear From You! What’s your opinion on having both options? Would you prefer ordering in advance to enjoy freshly prepared meals, or do you value the convenience of a quick meal delivery? Here’s How We Stand Out: Fast vs. Fresh: Zomato and Swiggy focus on speed, but at Hungry Moments, it’s all about the freshness and warmth of a home-cooked meal that nourishes both body and soul. Mass Production vs. Personal Touch: While others serve restaurant food, we bring you meals prepared by homemakers, made with love and care - just like you’d make at home. Convenience vs. Consciousness: We’re not just about convenience; we’re about empowering local homemakers, helping them earn from their kitchens and positively impact their communities. Growth with a Purpose: While speed matters, quality and care will always be at the heart of what we do. What would you choose? Let us know your thoughts below! Should we keep both options - fresh meals with scheduled delivery and HM Quick for faster service? 💬👇 #HungryMoments #HMQuick #HomeCookedMeals #Zomato #Swiggy #Zepto #FoodChoices #QualityVsSpeed #Fooddelivery #Homefooddelivery

If Zomato or Swiggy come with an option during order food on food quantity (quarter portion or half portion), can we reduce wastage of food? During dinner time I prefer to eat less. Now if I order a food item in zomato or swiggy from my preferable restaurant, I will get good quantity of food. But, I can not eat that much. So, the leftover food will be a westage or I need to eat later which is not a very healthy option. What is your thoughts? #zomato #swiggy
