Embarking on a New Chapter at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as Software Engineer II I am thrilled to announce my new role at JPMorgan Chase & Co., marking a significant milestone in a journey filled with perseverance, continuous learning, and strategic triumphs. Reflecting on my path, each step has taught me invaluable lessons not just about my destination but about how to navigate the road to get there. Career Beginnings and the Drive to Grow: My professional journey began at Capgemini in 2021, a foundational experience in my career. However, I soon felt the need to bridge a growing skill gap and reignite my passion for learning which I cherished as a student. Upskilling with Scaler: Scaler emerged as the perfect partner in my quest for knowledge. The program profoundly enhanced my coding skills, teaching me not only how to write efficient code but also best practices to evolve as a coder. My skills improved by 60%, a testament to the robust training and my dedication to mastering new challenges. A Commitment to Excellence: Over 1.5 years, I tackled over 300 problems on LeetCode, and maintained a 200-day streak on Scaler's platform, solving more than 450 problems on Scaler. I am grateful for the relentless support from mentors like Reza Sadoddin, Sandeep Sinha Mahapatra, Anshuman Singh and Abhimanyu Saxena, Nikhil Jain whose insights were invaluable. The Interview Process: My interview at JPMorgan Chase & Co. started with an online HackerRank assessment in Data Structures and Algorithms. The first round focused on a medium-complexity DSA problem and a code review. In the second round, I demonstrated my system design skills by discussing high-level system architecture. The final round involved behavioural questions, project discussions, and culture fit assessments with the hiring manager, culminating in team matching for optimal alignment. Looking Ahead: As I step into my role at JP Morgan, I am excited about the future and eager to apply my learning to real-world challenges.  Here’s to new beginnings and endless possibilities. Sharing my interview experience for SWE at Paypal for the first time 🎯 There were 4 interview rounds in total. ◾ Online Assessment: This consisted of 3 medium-level DSA questions. They also asked about my GitHub projects. ◾ DSA Rounds: There were two of these, focusing on Dynamic Programming and medium-level algorithmic problems. ◾ Hiring Manager Round: This was full of behavioral questions. I had prepared for about 30 different scenarios, which proved incredibly helpful. Throughout this journey, I had my mentor Ikshit .. guiding me. My story is an amazing example of how your journey can teach you plenty about the destination where you land. As I embark on a new beginning, now joining JPMorgan Chase & Co. as an Software Engineer II, I want to reflect how far I have come along! After completing my graduation, I joined Infosys my first company in 2021, which was a great stepping stone to my professional life. After a certain point in my career, I felt stuck and I missed the excitement of being a student and learning new things. I recognized the obvious skill gap and the necessity to upskill myself. I drew my inspiration from my favorite anime character Naruto and adopted the never give up attitude, as I took a leap of faith to upskill. Scaler came through as the ideal learning partner, I took a chance and invested in the course. The biggest learnings from this course have been that it teaches us how well we can code, how we can optimize code, what are the best practices in order to #be_better_coders. If I were to track my progress, I think the course spiked my skill improvement by 60%, and has greatly catalyzed my learning curve. I have been consistently working on being better at problem solving and logic building, and it has truly paid off! Over the course of 1.5 years, I have solved over 900 problems on LeetCode. Consistency is key. I am currently at a streak of 450 days of everyday practice - which is a huge accomplishment for me. A big thanks to @Jitendra Punia, Bhavik Dand and Anshuman Singh for their unparalleled support and guidance! With my learning armor in place, I went for many interviews! In my first job, I had a package of 1.8 LPA. 
 I wanted to get a better job, and honestly, my desired package was a maximum of 5LPA.

The reason was simple. 
 👉 I went to a tier-3 college where coding wasn't a thing. Lack of coding culture. 👉 I didn't know about platforms like GFG or Leetcode. 👉 FAANG? Never heard of it. 👉 LinkedIn? Not active. 👉 It felt like a whole other world where a 3-4 LPA package was a big deal.
 This might be surprising to some, but honestly, that's just how it was. 🔹 And then, I met Ikshit .. one of my mentors. He was an SDE-1 at Flipkart at that time. 🔹 When he hinted at his package, I couldn't even believe him. 🔹 I laughed sarcastically, thinking, “Itna kon fainkta hai yaar”. [“Is he bragging that much?”]
 👉 Back then, if someone had told me I'd crack a top company like PayPal someday, I wouldn't have believed it. 👉 Also, I’ll never forget my family's shocked reaction when I told them I got into PayPal and the package they offered. 👉 The maximum package they had heard of was around 7-8 LPA, just like me.  🔹 Recently, while visiting colleges as a hackathon judge or speaker, I encountered many stories similar to mine. 🔹 When I asked about their dream salaries, most mentioned aiming for 3 or 4 LPA. They seemed unaware of better options. 🔹 When I shared my story to motivate them, they found it hard to believe. 🔹 I understood because I was once in their shoes three years ago.

All I want to convey is just focus on improving your skills. Get a good grasp over the subjects and just work hard everyday.

On LinkedIn, I am a Senior SWE at Intuit, But what you won’t see 🔽 → I got rejected by Amazon in the behavioural round. → HCL Tech rejected me during the phone screening. → I applied to Morgan Stanley 100+ times before finally getting through. Here’s what I learned from these rejections: ➤ Understanding a company’s principles is just as important as technical skills. ➤ My Java fundamentals and core concepts needed work, so I revisited them before applying again. ➤ Even after applying to Morgan Stanley over 100 times, I never gave up. Eventually, I cleared all the rounds and got the offer after countless rejections. When I started, there weren’t many resources tailored for senior roles or experienced professionals. Don't hate your Corporate job even if it pays you just 20K/30K per month. I started my journey with 8K and later joined Infosys with 3.2 LPA then to PubMatic and then Amazon. Many of us started with 3.2 LPA jump to 50 LPA in few years. Best part about this industry, it is a growing industryand opportunity will always be there. In the vast expanse of code, Jatin found the rhythm of his own success, rewriting his story one line at a time.🌟 Meet Jatin Mittal , an engineer who started from the grassroots and soared to new heights through sheer determination. 🎓 Jatin graduated from a Tier 3 college with a degree in electronics from IPU Maharaja Agrasen College. His journey kicked off in the software realm, a field he had basic knowledge of but wasn't his core expertise. 💼 His first job in software at Paytm was tempting due to a lucrative package, but little did he know it was just the beginning of a rollercoaster ride. Starting as an embedded developer, Jatin wrote codes for Microcontrollers but faced a setback when he switched to IOS with no robust DSA skills and niche technology expertise. 🚀 The struggle hit hard with 16-17 continuous job rejections, leaving Jatin disheartened. That's when he decided to take matters into his own hands and joined Scaler as a last resort, not with the goal of just landing a job, but to upskill from scratch. 📚Learning DSA, HLD, and LLD from ground zero wasn't a walk in the park. From 3LPA at Infosys to XXLPA at Coinbase in 5 years! It was easy… 🤑 Not really! I was always passionate about open source contributions back in college! Being part of Coala organisation for GSoC in 2018, I later became mentor in the same organisation. 👩🏫 I interned at Gramener and got a PPO. I also got an offer from Infosys but chose to go ahead with Gramener at a ~3LPA salary. No one knew the name of that company, so why did I choose it? GUT FEELING or leap of faith. And so far, I don’t regret it. I moved to Goldman Sachs in 2021 and later moved to Coinbase in 2024. How did I make the move coming from a 3LPA job? 💡 In college, I focused on development but missed out on competitive coding, which hurt my chances in coding interviews. Despite relevant experience, job offers weren’t great. 😥 Joining Gramener was a turning point. I used every free moment to dive into competitive coding, and 1.5 years later, I moved to Goldman Sachs in 2021. 📈 At Goldman, I learned a lot but wanted more core engineering challenges. I spent the next two years refining my coding and design skills, using resources like Leetcode, Concept && Coding by Shrayansh YT channel and Arpit Bhayani’s System Design course. 😇 Finally, in April this year, I made the switch to Coinbase, landing my dream offer. 😍 P.S.: Sorry, I am not comfortable revealing my exact compensation but this was everything one can dream of at the experience of 5 years in the industry and it’s remote!!! 😅 #roadtosuccess
