As you progress in your leadership journey perspective helps you see the world from others’ point of view. It makes me think that technichans need to be in the detail, team leaders need to be at 10,000ft, Operational leaders need to be at 20,000ft, Organisational leaders need to be at 30,000ft and Visionary leaders need to see the whole picture. …but everyone needs to appreciate how the total business system works. So here’s the question. If your calendar is over scheduled with back to back meetings, how can you ever get the perspective you need to make decisions about your business that could have generational impact? I have grown up with a belief that unless I’m flat out busy, the work I’m doing isn’t valuable (enough).
