16 years ago, Rona Graf started her interior design firm, Grace Blu Interior Design Over time, she has won many awards, including, most recently, HGTV Designer of the Year. But even with all of her success, awards, and amazing projects, the way forward felt foggy and unclear. In some ways, she felt stagnant. It’s not that Rona wasn’t great at interior design anymore or that she wasn’t working on exciting projects. Rona is a master at her craft. But getting to the next level in your business requires a different way of thinking. And Rona was yearning to go deeper. There’s a big difference between Vision and Perspective. We’re all born with vision. We have eyes and can see shapes, words, and signs. But unless you have on the right pair of glasses, the shapes, words, or signs are gibberish. In other words, without your glasses, your perspective is blurred. That’s the challenge Rona Graf was facing when I first met her. So what made the difference? I took my time in asking Rona challenging questions that could help bring a different perspective. Instead of marching in with lights and cameras, we spent 3 hours going deep. A few questions I asked: - What is your big dream? What are you really going after? - What are the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome? - What would it look like to truly put yourself out there? - What’s the part you feel like people really don’t see? - Why aren’t you satisfied with where you are now? Rona was able to get clear on where she wanted to go and, most importantly, WHY. WHY influences WHAT. It’s easy to keep going, going, going. But it sucks to keep going in the wrong direction. Our work together helped unlock a new level of mental clarity. And Rona now has a new level of excitement that she hasn’t had in a long time.

The Human-Centered Design course has been a transformative experience for me, offering invaluable insights into the world of interior design. It has not only equipped me with a deeper understanding of the principles of design but has also ingrained in me the significance of putting people at the heart of every creative endeavor. This holistic approach to problem-solving has opened up new avenues in my interior design practice, enabling me to craft spaces that not only look beautiful but also cater to the unique needs and preferences of the inhabitants. By fostering empathy and a user-centric mindset, this course has empowered me to create more thoughtful and innovative solutions, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for those who inhabit the spaces I design. 👀
