Reflections from the UNSTUCK Conference At the recent Women’s UNSTUCK Conference, I had the privilege of connecting with a remarkable group of women, each with a unique story that resonated deeply. Through their highs and lows, one theme emerged: Perseverance. This powerful quality enables us to keep running and fighting for our peace, safety, joy, love, and our rightful place at any table. Life is a never-ending race, and while our journeys may conclude, our mission continues—to pass the torch to the next woman, fearlessly. Inspiring Stories: During the conference, I was moved by the stories shared by fellow attendees. From overcoming personal tragedies to triumphing in professional arenas, each narrative illustrated resilience in the face of adversity. These women, with their incredible journeys, showed me that our struggles can be powerful catalysts for growth and change. The Power of Perseverance: Perseverance is more than just enduring; it's about thriving despite challenges. Each story shared at the conference was a testament to this spirit. It reminded us that while we may face obstacles, our determination can lead us to incredible places. Together, we celebrated our victories, big and small, reinforcing the idea that we are stronger together. Running the Race Together: Life is a race, and we are all running it in our unique ways. However, it’s crucial that we support one another on this journey. The women I met showed me the importance of community and lifting each other up. When one of us succeeds, we all succeed, and that spirit of collaboration is what will propel us forward. Passing the Torch: As we navigate our paths, let’s not forget the importance of mentorship and empowerment. It’s our responsibility to guide the next generation of women, sharing our experiences and wisdom. By passing the torch, we ensure that the flame of perseverance continues to burn brightly. In closing, let’s embrace the fearlessness that comes with being a woman. Let’s keep running our races, uplift each other, and create a world where every woman knows her worth and fights for her place. Together, we are unstoppable.

Yesterday was one of those tough days where the challenges seemed insurmountable. The type of day that every single entrepreneur knows all too well. Admittedly, stacey and I came so close to postponing the Women's Summit (https://lnkd.in/gb_iBNDj) - a project we've poured our hearts and souls into. The vision we had for the Summit isn’t coming to fruition as easy as we dreamed it would. Our main sponsor backed out last minute, and now we’re scrambling. Over the last year and a half, we have often felt as though we’re living a version of the Bible story where the Israelites were backed up against the Red Sea with their enemies quickly approaching. Or, Noah building a giant ark in the middle of the desert. People called them crazy. People have called us crazy. But then, in a moment of clarity during a phone call with our absolutely amazing co-host Dr. Julie Ducharme, we remembered why we embarked on this journey in the first place. We're here to empower, inspire, and uplift women who have amazing product ideas to share with this world. We're here to break barriers and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. Breaking barriers and paving the way is never easy. Why would creating a Summit specifically for women in the product space be easy?? In that moment of remembering, we realized we are capable of overcoming even the biggest obstacles. We can and will push through the toughest of times because our purpose is greater than any setback. Stace and I are committed to telling a good story with our lives. And the best stories are the ones that include not giving up and overcoming crazy obstacles. Which game would you rather watch? The one where the winner wins by 40, or the one where the least likely on the team shoots a 3 pointer in the last second to win by 1. Yeah, us too. The Women's Summit will go on, stronger than ever before. Because when we remember our why, there's nothing that can stop us. One of the greatest joys I've found in the years since stepping away from Radical Girl Gang has been leveraging my learnings & expertise to help other women-led brands succeed. 🚀 Enter, IDA Sports. When I first met founder Laura Youngson, I knew she was building something urgent and essential. Disruptive to their core, the IDA team made it their mission to create the first female-specific soccer cleat, designed to address the unique anatomical differences between men's & women's feet (i.e. narrower heels, higher arches, different pressure loading). These differences have, of course, always existed — but the dissappointing reality is that women's footwear has historically been an afterthought; the prevailing standard being "shrink it and pink it" for decades. WAWA Wonder Women Lunch at Natpe Global Reinventing the wheel in times of disruption (For this event, you need to have done the RSVP and be registered at Natpe) The Wonder Women Panel & Luncheon was developed by NATPE Global and WAWA (Worldwide Audiovisual Women's Association). This exclusive event will bring together a panel with the finalists for the 2023 WAWA Woman of the Year Award for an inspiring afternoon of networking, a great meal, and an engaging conversation.  The maxim “change is the only constant” is perhaps nowhere more true than in the global entertainment industry, which at its core is characterized by disruption and transformation. At an exclusive WAWA gathering at NATPE Miami in 2020, Cynthia Hudson declared that the industry was experiencing a period of unprecedented change, comparing the moment with the transition from horse-drawn carriage to automobile. Inspired, the group concluded that it was the perfect time to embrace creativity and innovation in order to move forward. No one could have anticipated that the world would come to a standstill just a month later. Now, four years on, Hudson returns along with the WAWA Woman of the Year 2023 nominees to assess the transformative journey since her forward-looking NATPE 2020 speech. Examining the industry shifts, business models, and adaptation over the past four years, this panel explores the unprecedented change we faced and the reality that unfolded. How much have we changed? What is not working anymore?

On the heels of International Women’s Day my question is how many organizations will just simply go back to how it was done without making arrangements on how to truly better. The real test will to be see what and how organizations step up to the plate in the coming year and what real tangible change we have to show next year.

The future of power in leadership is changing - we are on a tipping point towards authoritarianism. But there is another path, one that starts with us, in our workplaces. Come & join the conversation next week!

Happy International Women's Day! This year, in celebration of this important observance, I'd like to recommend a film: "Temple Gradin," a biographical drama based on the real life of Mary Temple Gradin. As a brief synopsis to why Temple inspires me, I’ll oversimplify her incredible story. Temple is autistic and grew up in an era where brains like hers weren’t understood. In fact, her early diagnosis was “brain damage”, but her brain worked just fine - just differently than conventional standards. Through a series of life events, she ended up on a ranch in Colorado as a young girl and as such, spent a lot of time with animals. Temple is a visual thinker, her brain works in photographic-specific images. Later in life, this ability served her work well - she studied cattle behavior and the systems being used in commercial slaughterhouses. Her brain could see how elements of movement, light and design were leading to animal stress and injury - costly for the cattle house and inhumane. She is credited with revolutionizing the process with curved corrals and adaptations - but it wasn’t an easy pitch to ranchers who had been doing things the way they had for a long time. In the end, her diverse way of thinking created solutions serving the business, the consumer and the livestock. When I build teams, I like to build them with diverse minds and points of view. I believe we go further and faster when we have diverse voices and experiences at the table solutioning together. I am not as interested in ‘how we’ve always done it’ - I am interested in ‘how we can do it better and in service of the customer, the business and the holistic ecosystem.' "Temple Gradin" helps showcase exactly why that's so important and effective. If you're looking for some inspiration this year during Women's History Month, "Temple Gradin" is a great place to start!
