Hello, World! To kick-off #NeuroDiversityCelebrationWeek we wanted to introduce ourselves. Our aim? To make IT, Tech and Digital pathways accessible to neurodiverse minds. We are a small neurodiverse collective consisting of: Carole McNally, Managing Director Sam Munroe-Smith, Operations Director and SEN Specialist Milly Moss, Communications Director The Tech industry has a diversity problem, and EnterTech is trying to change that: a reported 75% of all technical jobs are held by men, and women make up just 14% of the total software engineering workforce. Moreover, neurodiverse women will inevitably face additional barriers to entry. We work with educational establishments and the IT, Tech and Digital industry to inspire entry into these career pathways. I joined RioMed Ltd. as Software Engineer just after my college, there are hundreds of learnings I learned but here are top 5, hope i can help someone...:) 1. **Code is never perfect** Even after several reviews, testing, and debugging, there's always room for improvement. It's essential to understand that no code is truly flawless, and what matters is building something functional, maintainable, and scalable. Be open to learning and iterating. 2. **Teamwork is key** Collaborating with others, whether it's on code reviews, discussions, or pair programming, is vital. You' Il learn that solving problems together is more efficient and the collective knowledge of the team is your greatest resource. 3. **Continuous learning is a must** Technology is always evolving, so learning doesn't stop after college. New frameworks, languages, tools, and methodologies emerge regularly. Being adaptable and keeping yourself updated is crucial in this fast-paced 4. **Communication matters** Coding skills alone aren't enough; being able to clearly explain your thoughts, designs, and problems to team members is just as important. Whether it's written in a pull request or during a standup meeting, clear communication helps things move smoothly. 5. **Don't fear failure** Mistakes will happen, especially as a fresher, but they' re part of the learning process. The key is to learn from them quickly, improve, and keep going. Every failure is a stepping stone to becoming a better engineer. These lessons helped me grow both as an engineer and a team player in the tech industry. #key #jobs #learnings #SDE #softwareEngineer #thoughts
