🌟 "Networking Organizations Can Help Local Nonprofits Succeed — and my experience proves it. Too often, grant makers overlook this critical step when supporting local leaders like me." As highlighted in the article, the author notes: "Through networks developed and supported by organizations such as Acumen, the Aspen Institute, and Teach for All, I’ve accessed not just funding but also training, mentorship, and lifelong relationships that have accelerated my reach and impact in the nonprofit world. The difference? Not talent or dedication but an introduction to networks that share ideas, facilitate learning, and open doors to opportunity." This mirrors my own focus on helping underserved entrepreneurs connect to the right networks—ensuring they have access to the resources, partnerships, and mentorship that unlock new opportunities for growth and impact. How have networks helped you or your organization thrive? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Common Thriving was going to be a nonprofit, then a business. What if it were a movement? What would you put in the manifesto of a movement called "common thriving"? I told a friend this evening that I want to build a thriving community--a movement--of "good businesses". I think of good businesses as: Businesses that have world-class tools. They're able to create enough value that they can "afford" to care about how they affect their world. They aren't forced into scrabbling and stinginess to survive. Businesses that treat their founders very well: that give the income, the "headspace", and the calm to let them choose where they invest their energy, while creating value for others. Businesses that treat their communities well. Not just in donating occasionally, but in creating welcoming community. Businesses that make people sad when they end. Businesses that treat their employees well, recognizing them as more than producers and supporting their life and growth. Businesses that see themselves as part of a web of people, and the rest of nature, across the globe. *** Businesses that thrive, and work deeply to share that thriving with others. *** This only scratches the surface. What would YOU put in a "Common Thriving Manifesto" to change the world through a movement of businesses? #Entrepreneurship #Community #IntegratedLife #Meaning #Sustainability #SmallBusiness #CommonGood #CommonThriving
