Battery neglect and poor maintenance not only cause breakdowns for 70,000 motorists each year but also result in a staggering £28 million in costs 🚗🔋⚡ 🔋 Today, on the 5th of October 2023, is Charge Your Car Day! CTEK has unveiled research revealing that nearly half of the vehicle batteries currently in use are underperforming. These underperforming batteries are contributing to the rising trend of battery-related breakdowns, which are in turn imposing financial burdens of over £400 per year on motorists who are driving less due to the escalating cost of living. ⚡ According to research conducted by the RAC, up to 40% of all breakdowns in the UK are attributable to battery failures, with a significant portion of these breakdowns resulting from drained or flat batteries. This issue extends even to electric vehicles, where a discharged 12V battery remains a leading cause of breakdowns, as reported by the breakdown rescue provider Start Rescue. 💡 On this Charge Your Car Day, CTEK is urging motorists to evaluate the condition of their batteries to avert costly and inconvenient breakdowns.
