The Connecticut Green Bank has partnered with the Connecticut Office of Manufacturing and the Connecticut Sustainable Business Council to launch a year long pilot program, GreenGain, funded through the Manufacturing Innovation Fund. This program will provide training, subject matter expertise, and financial resources to help smaller manufacturing companies in the state integrate energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other technologies and strategies into their operations. We had a great launch event at Legrand, North America and we were able to tour their facility and learn more about their electrical & network infrastructure solutions! As we navigate the evolving energy landscape, one thing is clear: innovation and industry partnership are key to progressing on our journey toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. Last week, I joined community and industry leaders to celebrate the Wireless Alternative by Train Transport (WATT) pilot project – an exciting initiative with the potential to transform the way we deliver clean, reliable energy to our communities. Developed by SunTrain Co, WATT aims to use freight railcars equipped with innovative battery storage technology to deliver renewable energy from generation to where it is needed most. This first-in-the-nation project would not only help with grid congestion but also create new pathways for renewable energy expansion, driving economic and technological growth in Colorado and beyond.
