Here’s a quick recap of our investor & advisor Risto Siilasmaa’s presentation on the topic of ‘Knowable and unknowable unknowns’. 16 minutes packed with insight! Remember Kodak? A pioneer in the digital imaging sector, yet it failed to capitalize on its own groundbreaking invention. Risto’s presentation was essentially about avoiding ‘Kodak moments’: Being nimble to successfully navigate both the knowable and unknowable unknowns. Such as: ✔️ Technology is the biggest value creator, with tech companies growing 10 times faster than other businesses ✔️ The potential value creation from quantum computing is immense and countries should strategize to maximize their share in it ✔️ Anticipating and adapting to demographic trends is crucial for businesses to be successful in the future, as simply implementing new technology does not guarantee competitiveness ✔️ Setting up a web shop does not make a department store an e-commerce company, and similarly, replacing manual processes with AI does not make a company competitive in AI ✔️ Declining birth rates and an aging population will have a significant impact on global consumer spending and businesses So how to be nimble and navigate uncertainties? Exercise scenario planning. It’s not a crystal ball. But it’s a structured means of coming up with shared views on possible future scenarios, with both threats and huge opportunities. I recommend watching Risto's presentation:

Invention and innovation are an important part of the development and progress of the human world. In our dynamic world, where challenges pop up like roadside stones, invention and innovation stand tall as our problem-solving superheroes! When society throws a curveball, our scientists and inventors don their capes, inspired by the pressing need for solutions. From hack to cutting-edge tech, the journey is fueled by the desire to crack the code of progress! When problems knock on our door, it's not about shutting them out but inviting them in for chai and brainstorming sessions. The link between society's needs and the genius minds crafting technical marvels is as strong as the chai-pakora combo during monsoons! Scientists and inventors play the role of 'solution finders,' turning challenges into opportunities for growth. #society #innovation #technology #development #engineering

Excellent juxtaposition of technology use in Dune with current days! It is in the end the psycho-physical power of individuals that births technology! This is why say the technology of the Greys is more powerful than us. The difference is actually (somewhere) in the individuals. This is also part of Soul Theory! This is why (some of) the Prophets of old have less of a respect today than the technological geniuses and corporate masters of today! https://lnkd.in/gZdi4RZq

This is not a rocket science. There are several ways of making better decision. The primary approach is to think about pros and con's of the decision. The timing of decision is important. Sometime, an unnecessary delay may kill the opportunity and potential benefits. However, where possible, a structured approach can make the things easy and help taking a better decision.

"Low Hanging Fruit" is the pessimistic idea that progress is slowing down because we've discovered the easy things and only the hard bits are left. It does look like we're achieving less with more scientists but might this be because we're inventing new areas and these soak up new efforts? If this is true it means that progress works "horizontally" (finding more problems to solve, inventing more disciplines) then "vertically" (learning more and more fundamentals). Here is my very professional diagram.

Hear ye, hear ye! A new dawn riseth—the “Cognitive Ecosystem” cometh! We doth plot a matrix between two mighty forces: 'Accelerationism' (speed, efficiency & tech innovation) and 'Augmentation' (the enhancement of human abilities). In this tug-of-war betwixt human values and machine prowess, we chart a course, mapping this brave new world with vectors that reveal the rapid rise of cognition and the bounds of human potential. Behold! Our ecosystem map doth highlight diverse products, from low to high, along the axes of acceleration and augmentation. Wherefore dost thy allegiance lie—speed or enhancement? The future awaiteth! Approach ye our website, whereupon lie the finest research, hot off the press and ready for thine discerning eyes! #CognitiveEcosystem #Innovation #FutureTech
