Three years ago on this date, Dennis Lanham and I were preparing for the February 4th launch of inaugural cohort of the Black Corporate Board Readiness (#BCBR) program at Santa Clara University. We chose the launch date to honor #BlackHistoryMonth. Nine cohorts comprising over 250 Alumni (see https://lnkd.in/gKvNfadB) have completed the BCBR program, which has grown into a family, a community, some say a movement. We will launch Cohort 10 (C10) this February. Despite headwinds to #DEI, we continue our ambition to drive authentic diversity on public and private corporate boards for two reasons: diversity at every level of organizations, organisms, and ecosystems leads to better outcomes and more resilience; and, it is a powerful way to 'bend the arc of history towards justice.' I encourage everyone to subscribe to Equal Justice Initiative's daily History of Racial Injustice, today's opportunity for learning below. As we collectively learn the truth of history, I invite you to reflect on the powerful words of St. Ignatius of Loyola: "Love ought to show itself more in deeds than words." We have a long way to go, and we must walk together. #corporategovernance #boarddiversity #racialjustice https://lnkd.in/gGkmgdAe

Celebrating Constitution Day: Honoring the Foundation of Our Nation Today, we celebrate Constitution Day, which marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. This foundational document established the framework for our government and enshrined the principles of liberty, justice, and democracy that continue to guide our nation. The Constitution embodies core values that are fundamental to the American way of life. These values include liberty, ensuring that individuals have the freedom to pursue their paths; equality, guaranteeing that all citizens are treated with fairness and respect; and democracy, promoting a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Constitution Day is a reminder of the enduring significance of the Constitution and the rights and freedoms it guarantees. It is a day to reflect on the vision of the Founding Fathers and the resilience of the American experiment. As we honor this day, let us also recognize the responsibilities that come with citizenship and the importance of active participation in our democracy. Whether through voting, civic engagement, or staying informed, each of us plays a vital role in upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution. Let us celebrate this day with a renewed commitment to these principles and a shared dedication to building a more just and equitable society. Happy Constitution Day!

Save 📌 and Share with 3 people in your network 👥 🌟 Honoring Memorial Day and Securing Your Legacy 🌟 As we commemorate Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the courageous men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms. Their dedication inspires us to reflect on the values they fought to defend: freedom, family, and the future. In honoring their legacy, it's also a time to consider how we can protect and provide for our own families. One essential way to do this is by ensuring you have a comprehensive estate plan that includes a trust. 📜✨ 🔹 Why is a Trust Important? 1. Control and Flexibility: Dictate how and when your assets are distributed. 2. Privacy: Keep your estate matters private and out of public records. 3. Protection: Safeguard your loved ones from creditors and legal disputes. 4. Tax Benefits: Optimize tax advantages and reduce estate tax burdens. 5. Continuity and Stability: Ensure a seamless transition and preserve family harmony. This Memorial Day, as we remember those who have given their all, let’s also take steps to protect our own legacies. A well-crafted trust can provide peace of mind and security for your loved ones, ensuring your wishes are honored and your family is cared for. FCCP's Manager of Programs and Communications, Jenna Patel, shares a powerful story, while highlighting the importance for philanthropy to support the movement for reparations. As we continue to honor and celebrate Black History Month, Jenna reminds us that "in order to truly actualize a multi-racial, just, and equitable democracy for all, we must grapple with the legacy of American slavery and recognize the philanthropic investments needed to repair persistent structural racism, way beyond the days and months commemorating Black history." 💯 Check out the full blog here: https://bit.ly/3OMfAOS

⚖️ Fight for Justice Till the End ✊ 🌟 The Call for Justice Justice is the foundation of a fair and equitable society. 🔍 It’s about ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality. But achieving justice isn’t always easy. It often requires courage, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to what's right. 💪 💥 The Struggle Against Injustice Injustice can take many forms—discrimination, inequality, corruption, and oppression. 🚫 When we encounter these injustices, it’s natural to feel anger, frustration, and a desire to bring about change. The fight for justice begins with recognizing these wrongs and refusing to remain silent. 🔊 🛡️ Standing Up for What's Right Standing up for justice requires bravery. 🦸♂️ It means speaking out even when it’s uncomfortable, challenging the status quo, and advocating for those who cannot fight for themselves. This battle may be long and difficult, but it’s crucial to stand firm in our beliefs and never give up. 🚀 🌱 The Power of Persistence The path to justice is rarely a straight line. ⏳ It’s filled with obstacles, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But true change comes to those who persist, who continue to push forward even when the odds are against them. 🔄 Every small victory builds momentum, and with enough persistence, the scales of justice can be tipped in the right direction. ⚖️ 🤝 Unity in the Fight Justice is not a solitary pursuit. 👥 It requires collective effort, solidarity, and the support of a community. When we come together, our voices are louder, and our impact is greater. 🌍 By uniting in the fight for justice, we can create a powerful force for change that no injustice can withstand. 💥 🌟 Never Back Down No matter how tough the battle, never lose sight of the goal. 🎯 Remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is a step towards a more just and fair world. The fight for justice is a marathon, not a sprint. 🏃♂️ Stay resilient, stay committed, and never back down. 🔥 The Legacy of Justice Those who fight for justice leave a lasting legacy. 🌟 They inspire others to continue the struggle and create a ripple effect that can change the course of history. 📜 Your fight for justice is not just for today—it’s for the generations to come. ✊ Fight Till the End Justice is worth fighting for—no matter the challenges, no matter the cost. ⚔️ Fight with integrity, fight with passion, and fight till the very end. 🏆 In the end, the pursuit of justice will always be a battle worth winning. hashtag #world hashtag #india hashtag #opentowork hashtag #workfromhome hashtag #remotework hashtag #freshers hashtag #whf hashtag #jobseekers hashtag #hr hashtag #hiring hashtag #hrintern hashtag #freelance

On July 2, 2024, we commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a pivotal moment in American history. Signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, this landmark legislation represented the culmination of decades of relentless advocacy by civil rights leaders, addressing deep-seated racial inequality and segregation across the United States. We are reminded of the ongoing struggle for equality and the imperative of sustained advocacy and vigilance. The parallels between past and present underscore the urgent need for collective voice and action to realize a more just and equitable society for all. Read more from Imari Paris Jeffries Ph.D. on why the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 serves as critical moments to reaffirm commitments to justice and equality below.

To all in the United States of America, At the core of our nation's foundation lies the fundamental principle of due process—a cornerstone of justice that ensures fair treatment and protection of individual rights. The right to due process is not merely a legal formality; it is a moral imperative that safeguards against arbitrary deprivation of life, liberty, and property. As we navigate the complexities of our modern world, it is essential that we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of due process. Whether in matters of law, governance, or personal conduct, adherence to these standards is paramount to preserving the integrity of our nation and securing a prosperous future for generations to come. Our children are the inheritors of the world we shape today, and it is our responsibility to create a society rooted in values of fairness, integrity, and respect for human dignity. By living up to the standards of due process and embracing principles of justice and equality, we lay the groundwork for a future built on strong family values and a commitment to the well-being of all. Let us come together as a nation, united in our dedication to upholding the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. By living by these standards and principles, we ensure a brighter and more promising future for our children and the generations yet to come. Sincerely, Jacob Russell Boyce https://lnkd.in/gA5WbzVs

As one of the largest democracy celebrates 78th anniversary of her independence today, it is important to reflect on what freedom mean and the responsibilities that come with them. 𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬? The recent heart-wrenching incident at R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in 𝐦𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐨𝐲 is a harsh reminder of why we must not heedlessly trust any establishments - specially those which are meant to educate and/or care for us. These are the places on which dreams are built - the loved one's present and future. These institutions should never be allowed to be the cause of shattered hopes or loss. We must demand unwavering transparency, accountability, and systemic reform from the systems we rely on. It is about ensuring that education and health & social care serve their true purpose — nurturing and protecting lives, not endangering them. When lives are concerned there is no room for errors. 𝐓𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. These are not just lofty ideals; they are lifelines. No one should ever feel robbed of their right to dream. We must fiercely protect this right and ensure that every establishment upholds its sacred duty to nurture and safeguard the lives entrusted to them.
