This is to share with you all interested the position paper of the Ethiopian Seed Association (EAS) that clearly identify key priority issues for policy and development interventions. It was a great event to attend the deliberations of the National Seed Forum organized by ESA that led to the position paper. It is my full hope that relevant actors (both at national and regional level not only public ones but also development partners and private actors) will give due attention to the issues identified that are crucial for the transformation of the seed sector. https://lnkd.in/dnkMURkt

Just published: the first open issue of DOCOMOMO Journal (no. 71, 2024/2)! When DOCOMOMO International moved to Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft in 2022 it was our ambition to start a yearly open issue next to the thematic issues of DOCOMOMO Journal. We did it! The open issue aims for contributions that do not fit within the topic of the thematic issues but fit the overall scope of the journal. All contributions to the open issue will undergo the same peer reviewing process under the wings of the editors-in-chief Uta Pottgiesser and Wido Quist. All special issues of DOCOMOMO Journal will continue to be published in print and online; the open issues will only be available online. Many thanks to the authors that made this open issue possible. The first three papers are online and more to follow! Consider publishing your next paper in DOCOMOMO Journal! #modernism #modernarchitecture #academicpaper #peerreview #journal #openjournal https://lnkd.in/ed8n_cUP

Submit your abstracts for the #AAPG Cross Regional Carbonates and Mixed Carbonate Systems Symposium, to be held in Sicily, Italy from 22 – 24 April 2024 for a chance to present and engage with an international audience. This Symposium marks a collaborative effort to bring together AAPG Europe and AAPG Middle East, with a central focus on carbonates and mixed carbonate systems worldwide, while highlighting their significance within these two regions. The aim is to engage high-caliber participation from experts within the energy sector and academic institutions. The Symposium’s primary objectives are an overview of controls that govern the evolution of these systems in time and space, the introduction of new frontiers in such understanding and the characterization and prediction of their properties across scales. This Symposium, through overview presentations and case studies, will address these systems with emphasis on new scientific developments equally as on applications of such knowledge in the age of sustainability. The goals of the Symposium are to have an environment where industry professionals and academic research experts share their fundamental and applied frontier research , seek collaborations, and engage in scientific debate while also discovering the geological beauty of Sicily, which also offers a view into how European and Middle Eastern cultures have melded in the past, an ideal backdrop to the merging of the communities of two AAPG regions. Maria Mutti and Aus Al-Tawil, Co-Chairs ⏰ Deadline for submissions: 15 January 2024 ➡️To submit: https://bit.ly/3FH6cXO #aapgeurope #AAPGME #getinvolved #GTWs #geosciencecommunity #Sicily #Carbonates

📢 Delighted to announce that a new paper with our work in #Nutrient #Dynamics was just published in the Science of the Total Environment (STOTEN) journal 🌊🔍. This groundbreaking study in Elefsis Bay, featuring a segment of my Ph.D. results, has been published thanks to the remarkable contribution of the first author, Eleni Rousselaki 🎓📢. This crucial research, made possible by the Institute of Oceanography of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, utilizing the aging yet resilient R/V AEGAEO, highlights the urgent need for a new vessel. Unfortunately, despite 75% funding approval from the European Union, the Greek government is yet to greenlight the remaining 25% for a new research vessel. Without it, the future of research, sustainability, and the vital BrainReGain initiative of Greece is at stake. There is no research without a Research Vessel. There is no BrainReGain without research. Interested readers can access the paper via this link for the next 50 days: [https://lnkd.in/ejHvEiE9]. Let's advocate for the support needed to continue advancing #Environmental #Research in #Greece! 🌊 #ResearchVessel #MarineScience #FundingChallenge #HCMR
