Violence against women and girls is a global issue, affecting 1 in 3 women in their lifetime. It transcends borders, cultures, and communities, yet it remains alarmingly underreported and underestimated. We all have a role to play in creating a safer world for women. Whether it’s through education, advocacy, or simply speaking out against injustice, change starts with us.  Let’s discuss the chronic illness-related challenges many women deal with. ❤️🩹 Women are more likely to suffer from conditions like ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune diseases compared to men, often facing dismissal and misdiagnosis. Want to be a better advocate for your female loved ones? Recognize their resilience by telling them how strong they are. Create opportunities for them to safely open up about their struggles. Understand their challenges by educating yourself with reputable online resources. The event begins the 16 Days of Activism campaign, ending on December 10 (Human Rights Day). One in three women globally faces violence, often from a partner. This day calls for everyone—governments, communities, and individuals—to act together to stop this violence. At Safe Space Initiative, we believe in justice systems that don’t just exist but work for women. Our co-founder, Osasumwen Edobor, reminds us why this is crucial.
