Did someone say #SuccessStory?! We’ve got an inspiring one to share. #TBT to 2017 when the US Army issued a #SBIR for the integration of #ATR into small caliber/close-combat weapon systems for infantry squads. Our team demonstrated technological excellence throughout each phase, enhancing the lethality of Army munitions and reducing the risk to DoD personnel engaged in combat operations. Combat domains are rapidly evolving for the U.S. military, and part of that evolution is a return to basics. During the Global War on Terror (GWOT), decentralized brigade teams could maneuver against an overmatched enemy, but the dynamics of a near-peer conflict will be vastly different. The Army is preparing by reinforcing warfighting fundamentals like land navigation. As Katherine Kuzminski from the Center for a New American Security put it, "Land navigation is a critical military skill; it doesn't matter if you're not combat arms... Soldiers need to know how to navigate, especially in a degraded environment." With a "GPS generation" of soldiers, the challenges were clear when the Army reintroduced land navigation in its Basic Leadership Course in 2022. Of approximately 900 soldiers, half failed. Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Weimer’s insight into this issue is telling: "When you keep going back to the same valley... using the same GPS technology... you’ve got leaders who have never actually used land nav." The Lynq PRO platform offers a solution, creating a land nav training framework that ensures student safety and provides accuracy for instructors. With 100% awareness of students' physical location and flexible data segmentation, cadre can train soldiers more effectively. Sometimes, moving forward means first going back to the fundamentals. #ArmyTraining #Leadership #MilitarySkills #LandNav
